章節 20: (20)Aftermath
Ok, ok I know I have been gone a while but I am going to have my finals and different stuff come up. I'm sorry it took so long but here it is, hopes you like it! And please give feedback, I love it when y'all do!!
Sapphires POV:
That next day the packs were either getting ready to make their way home or have already left. My old pack has already left, the people my mom sent to help were gone, all that was left were Adaline's pack and my twin Sapphiria and all of our friends.
Speaking of Adaline she has been begging me all day to leave with her and her pack, as we were staying in a rented cabin not far from where the battle took place.
I turned her down each time even though I wanted to. I wanted to start a life with Skylar but I just didn't know how far our relationship would actually go.
As you can probably guess I'm still worried he will reject me. I mean can you blame me though! I've been rejected so many times I have lost count!
I have also just lost some of my dearest friends while trying to save him, so If he rejects me this all would be for nothing.
I sigh as Adaline comes in, again. "Yes my dear sister?" I ask not really caring for the answer. "Please Sapphire come with me! Your other sister has already started her life with her mate Alec.
"It's time you find somewhere to settle down to. You have your mate back. It's time you finally settle down and take a break. With my pack protecting you, you would never have to worry about any of your future kids-" she was cut off by me choking on my own spit at the word kids.
"That is not happening, ANYTIME soon," I said matter of factly. She glared at me but continued "-being hurt or kidnapped, we would all protect you. So please come with me!" She pleaded with me.
I sighed, I seem to be doing that a lot lately. I can't believe I was actually giving this any thought. I looked into her hopeful eyes. "Fine," I said in a whisper.
She then proceeded to jump up and down chanting "I won, I won" I laughed at her childlike behavior but tried to shh her. "You're going to wake up Skylar!" I whisper yelled at her.
He had been exhausted after the battle, and we were letting him sleep all he could. She stopped for a bit then chanted the same thing but lower.
At that point, Skylar decided to wake up. I stared wide-eyed at him. I haven't actually thought of what I was going to say when he woke up.
He smiled at me and proceeded to walk over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist. I blushed as Adaline "Awwed" at us.
I glared at her still blushing. "So what is this I hear about you winning something Adaline," my Skylar asked. Wait my Skylar, where did that come from.
I frowned as Adaline answered "Oh I got Sapphire here to accept my offer of moving in with my pack, so we can provide protection for you two and your future offspring" she said while clapping, I again choked on my spit when she said offspring.
I glared at her. She sunk back as she realized what she had said. "Sounds like a lovely idea, it wouldn't be safe for kids if we were out in the woods with no pack.
It would certainly not be the kind of environment I would like to raise my future kids in. So I also agree with this arrangement" he said sounding thoughtful.
While here I was blushing and staring at him in disbelief. "So your not going to reject me," I said in a small voice. He looked at me like I was crazy. "Of course not, I would never," he said while hugging me closer.
I smiled while kissing him on the cheek. He smiled down at me and nuzzled into my neck.
Then we were rudely interrupted by someone coughing. I pulled away blushing as Skylar chuckled. Adaline looked happy and skipped off to who knows where.
"So you two were talking about having kids while I was asleep," he asked while looking down at me.
I blushed a bright red and ran off to my room as he chuckled behind me. I shut my door quick then launched myself onto my bed.
But before I got comfortable I heard a knock on the door. "Yes?" I asked "you need to start to pack, we are leaving early in the morning" Adaline yelled through the door.
I sighed and stood up stretching. I pull out a random suitcase and pack all of my clothes that I had.
You see I may not have mentioned this but after the battle, I had gotten all of my stuff from me and Sapphiria's house since she and Alec were going to be moving into it when they get back to start their new life.
After I finished packing I set my stuff by the door to make it easier for me in the morning. I then walked into the dining room to get something to eat before I went to bed.
I ate a PB&J sandwich while drinking a Pepsi. I put my plate in the sink and my can in the trash. I turned on my light as I walked into my room to change, and was startled to see Skylar laying on my bed.
I looked at him questionably when he opened his eyes "I couldn't sleep so I came here" he answered my unspoken question.
I nodded and went into the bathroom and changed into my PJs which consisted of short shorts and a tank top. When I walked out Skylar was staring at my legs hungrily.
I hit him on the side of the head and he laughed it off. I layed down next to him and cuddled closer to him. He wrapped his arms around me and sat his chin on the top of my head. "Goodnight Sapphire" he whispered "Goodnight" I barely whispered back.
I was dozing off when I heard him say "I love you" but I was too far go to actually realize what he had said.
