Dear Charlus,
This is Fleur. I wish you a very Happy Birthday. I received your letter the other day. I wanted to let you know that coming to Beauxbatons is a very good choice. While some say Hogwarts is the best school, that was in the past. There are many sources that say that the level of education has decreased over the years. The Beauxbatons send a letter to every magical child in France on their 8th birthday. Hope you come!
Yours Sincerely,
Fleur

Charlus was still on his bed, He was playing around with the pendant around his neck after reading the letters. He took off the pendant and looked at it closely. He was very curious as to who got it for him. He only knew that he always had it with him, but he couldn't remember who got it for him.
The pendant was eagle shaped, and along the side there was a very small line. If Charlus hadn't taken the pendant off and looked closely, he would have never found this line. He realized that it wasn't a pendant, but that it was a locket.
He stuck his nail into the line, and slightly pulled open the locket. The locket opened up quite easily. He looked inside and saw there was a symbol. It was the letter 'B' in a decorated slab, surrounded by flowers.
Charlus recognized the symbol immediately. He had just read his admission letter into Beauxbatons, and the symbol was that of Beauxbatons. Charlus immediately made a decision, he would find out who gave him the locket.
Charlus rushed downstairs and immediately went to the dining room where he knew Sirius would be.
"Happy Birthday Charlus! What do you want for your-"
"Who gave me this locket?"
Sirius looked at the locket in Charlus' hand and tried to remember. Then he suddenly remembered who it was. When Sirius asked Dumbledore what made him conduct a trial, Dumbledore gave Sirius the letter that Charlus had in his hands when he first came to Dumbledore's house. Sirius went to his study and opened a drawer. He removed the charm that hid the letter and took it out. He came back to the dining hall and handed the letter to Charlus.
"You were almost kidnapped by death eaters and some unknown person saved you. Dumbledore said that this person was as strong as him, but I don't know. Anyway, he's the one who left you this locket."
Charlus was an 8 year old child. His curiosity governed a lot of the decisions he made. He decided that he would find who saved him to thank him. Since there was the picture of the Beauxbatons in the locket, he decided that going to Beauxbatons was his best course of action.
"I want to go to Beauxbatons."
"Why? Why not Hogwarts. Don't tell me..." Sirius stroke his chin, giving Charlus a look as if saying he knew his reason. "You like that Fleur girl right? That's why you want to go to Beauxbatons."
"What do you mean like. Of course I like her. She's my friend."
Charlus' reply made Sirius give up. It was frankly his fault for thinking that he would get an embarrassed reaction from an 8-year-old. If Sirius said the same words 5 years later, then he wold be able to solicit a reaction.
"I want to go there to meet the person who saved me."
This answer made Sirius curious.
"You know who saved you?"
"No stupid! I found the logo of Beauxbatons in the locket he gave me, so I think he'll be there."
"He?"
"I'm sure it's a man. I don't know why, but I know."
Charlus' intuition told him that the person who saved him was a male. Charlus trusted his gut feeling a lot. Sirius did not pay too much attention and said, "Ok. It's your choice. But first tell me, what are we going to for your birthday? This time Harry can actually have opinions, so pick carefully. Your future as a brother depends on this birthday party. If you leave for Beauxbatons, this will be the only thing Harry will remember."
Charlus suddenly felt a bit guilty. If he went to Beauxbatons, he would leave Harry all alone in this big house. Suddenly, he had an idea.
"Why not send Harry to preschool. Then he won't get bored." Charlus started grinning, praising himself internally for having such a great idea.
"Yeah! That makes sense. Then I can leave him and start working on catching up. I have 9 years of se- work pending." Sirius controlled himself as he was in the presence of a child.
The birthday party was fabulous. It was a very small crowd - the same as last time. They had invited the Delacours, but they had something planned already, so they declined politely.
Remus gave his gift after the cake cutting. It was an egg. Remus said, "It's a Little Owl's egg."
Charlus giggled. "Yes, it's a very small egg."
Remus clarified to Charlus, "Not it's size. It's called a Little Owl egg. All Owls that come out of this egg are called Little Owls. This one is going to hatch in a few hours, so I bought it for you."
"Oh. Thanks Uncle Moony."
Charlus smiled cheekily and rushed to his room to put the egg in a safe place. He put it on the pillow on his bed. He called out, "Tonky. Tell me when the egg is about to hatch."
Tonky appeared with a pop, and said, "Of course young master."
Charlus came back downstairs for the cake eating competition between Sirius and Remus. Time flew by, and it was soon time for Remus to leave. Just when good byes were about to be exchanged, a pop sound accompanied the Black house elf.
"Young Master Charlus, the egg is hatching."
