It was a chaotic battle all over the place, focusing on only two objectives. The objective of Jack's force was to take Master down while he lost his divine power. The aim of Master's force was to keep him alive until the other side was eliminated.

After learning that Master possessed the Greater Dispel and could cast it repeatedly, John instructed the players with pinnacle classes to spread away from him. They might achieve their objective easier if they converged on him, but they would be wasting their skills.
