章節 101: C: A Prisoner

Rafaela woke up with a start. A moment later, she sat up, with a feeling of disorientation. 

Part of her expected the surface beneath her to be her old bed back on SkyWater's main station. Another part expected to see her ship's pilot chair folded out flat. A less familiar corner of her mind suggested that she might have slept on a living surface that her conscious mind couldn't identify. Her eyes reported that she'd been laying on the floor of an unfamiliar, oddly square, compartment.

Her gaze caught on the sleeve that covered her arm, and she looked down at her own body. The smart fabric that she'd worn beneath her suit covered the skin that had been exposed in the medical unit. She quickly glanced around the empty room. There was nothing here, not even an obvious screen on any of the walls, though they seemed to have a translucence that made her wonder if every surface was actually a screen.
