Anna woke up feeling a little more lazy. She hugged the pillow close and realized that the space next to her was empty.
Rubbing her eyes open, she yawned and found that Kristofer was nowhere in sight.
"Breakfast?" she mused, hearing her hoarse voice. Hopefully, he did.
Checking her phone, Anna saw he made sure to leave a message.
"Brb. Need to settle things with the manager, xoxo."
At that, Anna instantly rose to her feet, jumping inside the shower and put on some decent clothes. She didn't bother to comb her hair.
Running towards the lobby, she pressed the elevator button way too hard. When she finally found the receptionist, Anna had trouble calming her racing heart.
"Can you please tell me where your manager is? And I need you to be quick about it unless you want to lose your job or a friend of yours."
Blinking, the lady surely thought of Anna as losing it. But she had no time to explain.
