章節 68: Game of hearts

Anna made a face. She was about to press the enter button on her work computer, the apology email displayed before her.

She took a deep breath.

It wasn't the first, but it was the first time that she had to resort to it because she kept on failing to accomplish figuring Brett Prestman out.

"Come what may." She muttered and pressed enter. When the sent message flashed on her screen, Anna slumped her head on her work desk.

It landed with a loud thump but she barely even said ouch nor groaned.

"I hate you."

Lifting her head, she patted her hair and switched off her computer. It was a little past five in the afternoon already and she knew she just couldn't stand being cooped up inside her small office any longer.

She was so close.

She was close and then Kristofer Almodiel still came into the picture and ruined everything.

"I need a drink." Anna muttered to herself making it to her car parked in the parking lot.
