"Daughter-in-law? Have you lost your mind, Kristofer?"

Anna scoffed. After Kristofer Almodiel's mother had branded her as 'future daughter-in-law', her chance of cornering Brett Prestman had vanished.

To add, this sudden news was literally a bomb.

It didn't sit quite well with Anna. Aside from it being a totally shocking claim, it had to come from Kristofer Almodiel's mother nonetheless.

Kristofer maintained his cool. He had expected his mother to come near Anna at some point. What he didn't expect was for her to call Anna her daughter-in-law when nothing was even set in stone.

He knew that it was part of her plot to get him to marry. However, it made him think that his mother has gained information regarding Anna's identity.

It was something he had wanted to get his hands on.

Grace Inolan was right. His mother was able to beat him to find anything about Anna aside from her name.
