章節 39: His Cat eyes!
Long Jie didn't know what came over him when he said all these things. It was senseless even to him. Or perhaps, he went down that Lane of memories that were buried deep into his steel heart.
"As for when your loved ones are lying there" he pointed towards the O.T. " I don't want to think about it"
It was obvious he didn't want to answer her question. He couldn't imagine Yuan or Wei lying on the deathbed or even the woman beside him.
She sighed loudly.
"Are you okay? What happened?" He asked her.
"It doesn't look good on you," spoke Zhenyi. "So drop it"
"What?"
"This" she pointed her finger at his face. "Your concern for me"
Long Jie was about to reply when the light of O.T turned off. The doctor came out of Sam's room, their attention shifted to him. The doctor instructed the junior doctors on the complications of this particular case. He saw two persons sitting outside the room and asked, "Which one of you is family?"
"I'm his family, "Zhenyi replied.
The doctor noticed the ring on her finger and said, "Mrs. Qin, the surgery was successful but your husband's life is still not out of danger."
The poor doctor failed to notice a certain dark expression. If looks could kill the doctor would be ashes until now.
Fortunately, Zhenyi eased the deadly environment by speaking.
"You are mistaken, doctor. He's not my husband. Can you please brief me on the patients condition?"
The doctor summarized Sam's condition and her brows furrowed, "Did not you say the surgery was successful?"
"The patient was shot multiple times. Fortunately, none of the shots was at his vital organs and he suffered a stroke during surgery. If he woke up within the next 48 hours, he'll be good"
"What do you mean by if he woke up? Aren't you called the best doctor? Then why the heck are not sure?" Zhenyi fumed up.
" Miss, I'm a doctor, not God. I can operate on him but can't do anything more than it," the doctor mustered up the courage and spoke. The woman in front of him was terrifying and he wished never to encounter her again.
Zhenyi was quiet for a while before she said, "How's Mr. Cao?."
"The other patient was shot at multiple places but his surgery was not as complicated as Mr. Qin"
"But, he's in a vegetative state now. We are not sure how long he might be in a coma"
"Save them at any cost doc," Zhenyi let out with the strength left in her. No matter what, she, Xin Zhenyi would rise again tomorrow and avenge them.
The doctor nodded and left.
Vengeance, retaliation, retribution, and revenge!
' whoever you are, just wait and watch, you will meet your end soon very soon' she said in her mind.
Long Jie saw her eyes glistening with fire, those eyes were the most attractive phenomenon he had ever caught a glimpse of. But little did he know, they were burning with the fire of vengeance.
After few minutes….
Xin Zhenyi saw Long Jie was still sitting beside her, she couldn't help but ask"Are not leaving? It's getting late and you don't need to sit here idly. If you don't remember, you have got an empire to run?"
There she was! The sharp cat-eyes! Funny how he missed this side of hers.
He smiled and slowly went close to zhenyi and spoke in a deep-soft voice," Are you worried about me wife?"
The way he spoke was so sensual that it sent shivers through her spine. This man was dangerous for her peaceful voice. But she glared at him as if nothing was out of place and said" Worried? Huh and about you? Don't you think they don't fit in one sentence?"
He ignored her sarcastic remark and asked" what about you? Aren't you leaving or are you planning on staying here at the hospital?"
Just the thought of her spending a night at hospital for other men was enough to sour his mood.
"Well, it's not like I can do anything by sitting here. I'm leaving too that's why I asking."
" Then, let me send you home," Long Jie said.
"As you say"
He was surprised that she agreed just like this but he was getting used to it since the time she entered his life. Nevermind, he relished the time spent with his cat-eyes. His wife was the most beautiful woman in the whole darn world.
