章節 36: To Give and To Be Given (A Story Poem Of A Turned Spirit)
Oh! So wonderful!
The people serve me well
Oh! So plentiful!
Look at the mounds of food, wealth, and clothing
How lovely they present themselves
How rich my world has become
Men and women marvel at my looks
My talents
My works
My charm
Someone sound the alarm!
Because I'm on fire
Burning fire
Hotter than a cast iron
What...what is this?
A tiny stone hits my new vintage sneaker
A four year old runs to take it back
I slowly stare to find him playing hopscotch
Alone
Tis 26 degrees and he plays hopscotch alone
The wind lightly brushes, yet my entire mind is blown
...the child has nowhere to call home
Three hours soon come to pass
I have returned to my house at last
The child I found sits on the couch
Comfortably sitting in a tired slouch
Click!
I snap my jacket onto the hook
Opposed to drinking, I get a better look
A peek
The child holds the answers I seek
I sit down with caution
"Excuse me..." were the first words
The child turns his head
"Why did you let me take you here?" was the question
The child had no fear when he said,
"You're destined for good, if you don't stay corrupted."
Like a switch, my brain flipped
Time would be slower to tick
I look around
This....this sham!
This is no way to really live
To withhold all that I can give
I was here just to be here
But, then the child added unto his words,
"There's a reason you have all of this. Being rich is not a bad thing, if you're choices are clear."
One night
That was it
That was the kick
I was blessed to have what I have
To eat what I eat
To wear what I wear
Others struggle
Others fuss
I may not be invincible
But I can be their diamond in the rough

Sava_254 This is a story poem. A poem in which, you guessed it, tells a story. This tells of a person who's views change once they take in a homeless child. God has many ways to open our eyes. He can use objects, events (good or tragic), or different people. We are all destined to do His will in some sort of way. Stay with God, for He can also lead you to your purpose. To truly allow you to live.
