"Anyway Jo, people should start trooping in soon. I've gotta change. Be right back", Justin said giving his girlfriend another quick kiss on the cheek. He left and soon after Maddy joined us. "You guys look to be about done. Let's get going". "We are done. No thanks to you", Michelle said with a raised brow. Maddy shrugged and gave a guilty smile.
"Come on", she said dragging us both outside. Just like Justin predicted, more cars started entering. Maddy turned on the stereo and the music started playing. Jake insisted that he wanted to be the DJ so we didn't get one. The voices and murmurs of students let us know that our party was about to begin. Students started trooping in once we opened the door and I put on my best hostess smile welcoming everybody.
By the time the first set of guests had been welcomed Jake had already taken charge of the music and I gotta say he was doing great. "He's doing great right", Jordan said from behind me. I was startled. "Don't ever do that to me again", I said putting my hand on my chest trying to steady my heart. "And yeah he is. You literally echoed my thoughts".
"Who knew Jake could be a good DJ?"
"I know right... Anyway it's good to see you in the outfit I got you".
I had to crane my neck to look at him seeing as he was so much taller than me, even in my heels. He shrugged, "I'm gonna go get a drink, would you like anything?" "Sure".
A couple of minutes later he returned with my drink. "Thanks Jordan. Although now that I think about it I should have gone to get the drink since it's your birthday". He shrugged, "you know I'm not all big on birthdays". "Seriously dude, it's your 18th. You're officially an adult now". "Honestly I'm just happy for the chance to throw a party". I shook my head.
The doorbell rang again. It's a wonder how we were able to hear it with all this music. "Would you be a doll and get it?" Jordan pleaded with puppy dog eyes. "Sure. It's not like it's my birthday or anything", I said with sarcasm heavily laced in my words.
"Thanks", he appreciated and took off. I rolled my eyes and fixed on a smile before going to open the door. The smile turned into a real one when I saw Dorian at the door. He enveloped me in a hug that had me surprised at first but I got over it and hugged him back.
"Hi Dorian". "Hi Jo. You look amazing". "Thanks, you too". He looked me over and seemed to nod to himself in approval. "Come on in", I motioned for him to come inside. A few more people showed up but not the person I was waiting for. My heart plummeted. Maybe he wasn't gonna show.
"Something wrong?" Dorian asked with concern on his face. I had forgotten he was still there. I quickly rearranged my face into a smile. "Nah, I'm fine". He looked convinced and nodded. "Shall we?" He asked holding out his arm for me. I looked at it and thought - eh what the heck - and took it. "We shall", I replied.
Our living room was already full of bodies dancing everywhere. "I'll be right back", Dorian said, "I should go find my teammates". "Okay", I replied. I decided to go say hi to Jake at the DJ table and I walked up to him. "Jacob", I greeted. He looked at me. "Josephine", he smiled, "you look nice". "Thank you my dear", I replied in a posh British accent.
Jake raised a brow at that but seemed to get my drift as he decided to play along. "You're welcome my darling", he replied also in a British accent, "hope you're enjoying the party?" "Of course my dearest Jacob. By the way good job being the DJ", I winked. "Why thank you, my darling Josephine".
We stared at each other for approximately five seconds before we burst out laughing. "That was so cool", he said breathless. "I know right. Anyway I better leave you to it. Later Jakey", I said. He waved. I walked back and saw Dorian talking to a group of girls. I didn't feel like intruding so I decided to walk around to see who I'd find. The doorbell rang again.
I inwardly groaned. Why do I have to be the one to get the door? I walked to it and opened it. A group of people walked in. I made sure to smile and say my hellos and welcomes. I was about to close the door when I heard someone. "Wait", the familiar voice said. I turned to find Tony there looking ridiculously handsome.
I couldn't help the smile that broke out on my face at the sight of him. "Hey Tony. You look nice", I said trying not to blush. "Hey Josie. You look amazing too", he replied smiling at me. "Come in", I gestured when I saw that he was still standing at the entrance.
"I thought you weren't gonna make it", I said. "Oh I'd never miss Jordan's party for the world or the chance to see the princess in a beautiful outfit", he winked. Tony winked at me. Oh my God. Is he flirting with me? I think I might pass out. I blushed. I thought of something witty to say. "Oh well prince charming looks equally great tonight", I said in my flirtiest voice.
"Well thank you, your highness", he said taking a small bow. "So where's Jordan?" He yelled because of the loud music. "Oh I dunno. I lost him earlier tonight". "And Maddy?"
"I lost her too".
"I can see Jake being the DJ and Justin's probably with Michelle right?" I wonder where he was going with this. "Yeah", I replied.
"So you're alone then. Would you like some company?" He asked looking hopeful. I tried not to let my elation show on my face too much. "I'd love it", I replied.
We moved to a quieter part of the house and we talked for we while. It was...nice. I found out a lot about him, like, his favorite artiste is Ed Sheeran and his favorite song is perfect. I told him my favorite artistes were Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. I told him I didn't have any favorite songs but I loved all songs by said artistes and a couple of others.
He was fun and easy to talk to. He made me laugh a bunch of times and in that time we spent, I could almost swear he liked me too. "Would you like to dance?" He asked me. "Yes", I replied. We danced and it was fun. He was a good dancer and so was I. I could even be a cliche and say it was magical. We complemented each other very well.
My eyes caught Jake's and he smiled when he saw who I was with. He winked at me and before I knew it, the song changed to a slow one. I thought it would be awkward but Tony took my hands and put it around his neck and wrapped his arms around my waist all the while maintaining eye contact with me.
I felt my face go hot and Tony looked amused but didn't say anything. I felt...safe in his arms. Which is weird because I've never felt safe with anyone except my parents and the guys and of course, Mr and Mrs Dawson. But right now, I literally felt like Tony could ask me to follow him to hell and I would.
I tried not to think of that too much and instead just enjoy our moment. I silently thanked Jake for the song. I dunno how long we danced, could have been minutes, could have been forever but I know I was reluctant to pull away when the song ended.
"And now, it's time to wish my man Jordan a happy birthday. Jordan get up here birthday boy", Jake said, "Justin, Josie, you too". I chuckled. Jordan definitely didn't want us to do this but we were doing it either way.
"I'll be right back", I said to Tony. He smiled and nodded in response. I got to the stage. I saw Maddy come into view, video camera in hand. She gave me a thumbs up and a warm smile. I smiled back. I took the microphone. "Okay guys. I'm gonna lead the rendition of happy birthday to one of my favorite people ever. Jordan I love you man".
I sang the happy birthday song for a visibly annoyed and flushed Jordan, which was an odd sight because Jordan never blushes. The crowd joined in and it was fun watching him squirm. "Thank you guys so much", Jordan said pleased that the song was over, "and now a performance from 4J".
"Actually", I started, "I want to give a performance. A solo performance of a song I wrote titled you're the reason dedicated to Jordan Adonis West". After that was over I sang a cover of Anne-Marie's Birthday changing a few of the words to fit the situation.
During both solo performances Jordan looked touched and happy and I was glad I was able to make that happen. He and the guys do a lot for me everyday and Jordan was a hard guy to impress. I'm glad I was able to impress him. After that, we did a couple of songs together and the rest of the party was a blast.
A/N: Awwwwn, Josie wrote a song for Jordan. How sweet .
