CHAPTER START---
---Dungeon, Floor 15...
Yang could be seen walking between the members of the party he has been tasked to supervise as they collect their loot from the floor after clearing the final room on floor 15. 'Hmm, nobody seems hurt and I've only seen them use one potion, I suppose that's expected when you have 3 healers and 12 total fighters, even monsters can get swarmed. I wonder what they plan to do now.'
Yang: "Are you guys ready for the next floor?"
At this question, everyone stopped what they were doing and looked to Yang. It took a moment before Hallan spoke up for the group.
Hallan: "Uh, floor 15 was our goal so don't we turn back here."
Yang: "Well are any of your hurt?"
The party can only shake their head, indicating that they were luckily unharmed.
Yang: "Is anyone too tired to continue?"
Once more everyone seems to be well enough to proceed forward.
Yang: "Anyone had a hard time getting here?"
Proudly they form wide grins as they vigorously deny this question.
Yang: "Then why turn around?"
Hallan: "Well uh, I guess going to the next floor could work if everyone agrees."
Yang: "That's the spirit, if you're hurt it's always better to turn back early and live to fight another day but this is a huge team and you guys haven't even been hurt once. This is as good as a first expedition goes, trust me on that."
Eventually, the group collected their loot and pushed further on as a unit and not only entered the 16th floor but also cleared their way into the 17the floor. It was at this point that they finally encountered something that was beyond their strength.
The front liners of the group entered the dungeon floor and slowly came upon a massive open space which they had no choice but to pass through to proceed. Seeing this Yang immediately recognized it and took control of the group.
Yang: "STOP!"
Hearing this one word had everyone frozen in the spot.
Yang: "Everyone, get behind me, now!"
All the members of this party quickly fled to behind Yang as they were not sure what to expect. To their surprise, Yang crouched down and placed both his hands onto the ground before speaking to himself. "Ha, I won't fall for the same trick twice, nice try though, TREMOR!". As Yang spoke the name of his technique the area shook and began to rise. This was not because of his Tremor but because a monster was buried in the ground waiting for prey.
Yang: "Damn Bulettes. Let me take care of this, just focus on protecting the guild members."
As he spoke Yand slowly walked toward the creature before rapidly accelerating by flying forward and slamming his flaming fist into the creature's face with all the strength he had. A loud CRACK sound echoed through the cave as the onlookers expected to see Yang's arm broken but to their surprise when the creature that had been knocked over and pushed back a few meters got up, its jaw was completely dislocated and shatter but Yang looked completely fine. The visible and audible shock came from the spectating group as they hadn't expected not only that speed but that power, to their knowledge he was a mage, they expected magic and chants but this is just strength so far, and it absolutely destroyed the jaw of this massive armored creature.
Ririth: "Wow, so that's what it takes to be a prodigy huh, a monster amongst monsters."
Wynjor: "He's really scary."
Upon hearing this the others could only silently nod as they saw Yang jump towards the creature again and slam another flaming fist into it repeatedly, eventually causing it to become ash. As he looked back at them over his shoulder some of them were staring at the devious smile on his face as he spoke. "C'mon just stay close to me and let's get to floor 18, only the goliath remains so don't engage it alright"
Everyone: "..."
Yang: "Good, let's go."
Just before entering the boss room Yang pulled everyone aside and spoke in a hushed voice.
Yang: "Look I want to test some moves on this guy ok, I need to see if my water alone can deal with him, just stay back. Don't try to engage he's too strong for you right now but you'll get there soon."
When they heard this all of them had thoughts along the lines of 'This guy came down here to use goliath as a punching bag for new moves? That's crazy.'
Slowly Yang just casually walks up to the goliath unit he is standing 20 meters away before raising his hand and pointing his index finger that the monster. 'Water Shot', a jet of water quickly shot out of his finger and slammed into the goliath, as he pours more and more magic into the attack it eventually begins to pierce the skin of the monster. 'Damn creating water takes too much mana', Yang quickly stops using that attack and instead tries something else.
As the monster rushes him he boost jumps to its left and out of its reach before landing and slamming his armored hands into the ground. Suddenly magic condenses and a puddle of water spreads from his hands all the way to the goliath. As the monster swings at him after rushing him, Yang stops using 'Create Water' and switches to 'Control Water' to move the water up the leg of the monster still within the puddle as he sprints at Yang. Before the creature can turn around his hand makes contact and he uses another move 'Chilling Touch', this move instantly freezes the ice and parts of the creature's leg behind the knee before the motion of its leg shatters the ice and reveals that the ice did no damage at all.
Seeing that depending on himself as a source of water for his Cryo and Hydro spells still isn't viable Yang quickly decides to end the fight. He jumps a few feet off the ground backward as flames are released from his feet and hands propelling him above the monster. With one final yell, he prepares to end the fight in one attack.
Yang: "Everyone clear the room, get away from my attack."
Upon hearing this everyone went into the previous room which was empty and prepared for his attack to come. Before the explosions, before the heat, before the blinding light from the superheated flames, the very last thing anyone and the monster itself heard were the words, "PRESSURE DAMAGE!".
For over 10 seconds the explosions, heat, and light did not halt. Everyone held on for their lives in the other room as the heat began to affect them even there. Eventually, the attack stopped but they still could not enter the boss room. The bedrock that made up the floor and walls' hard parts melted and even went missing completely in some areas as they peeked in to see Yang holding the goliaths monster crystal.
The sheer shock everyone experienced couldn't even be put into words. Here they had a level 3 adventurer one-shot the upper floors boss by destroying the entire boss room to the point that some areas are melted, what an absolute monster.
Yang: "Hey are you guys ok?!"
Receiving small nods from his temporary companions, Yang casually continues onward, as if he hadn't done an absurd feat moments ago.
Yang: "Alright, let's head to the safe zone and we can relax a bit before we head back up, we've only been down here for a few hours so we should be up before it's too late in the night, alright. Let's go."
Yang spoke cheerfully as he simply walked towards the safe zone entrance and left everyone there staring at his back pondering all the things he's capable of. They all heard of his records and his magic but seeing it in person is a completely different story.
---The City of Orario, Loki's Office...
Sitting across from the goddess Loki a short-haired slender blonde man wearing a hat with a feather in it could be seen sipping tea. The goddess was leaning in with her elbow resting on her legs and her fingers folded under her chin supporting her head.
Loki: "Are you sure it's him?"
Hermes: "I wouldn't be here if I wasn't, Orcus is back and he seems to be preparing something, and you know there's only one thing he's ever been known to prepare."
Loki: "THAT'S INSANE! THAT WOULDN'T EVER BE ALLOWED!"
Hermes: "Unfortunately even Ouranos can't stop it. Word of advice, however, that little elf girl that follows Ais like a puppy."
Loki: "Lefiya."
Hermes: "I recommend you promote her, I've already taken measure with my highest level individuals but I can only make space for 2 sadly else it would be obvious. I'm sure you can get away with 1."
Loki: "So the old man did help us a bit. Ugh, this is gonna be a mess. Yeah, this makes stronger people but it never ends well for the winners, losers, or the people who know any of them."
Hermes: "Yes, but I can't imagine a better way to separate someone from a familia you can't go after."
Loki: "...no, no, NO! Nobody would go this far for one person, not even...damn it."
Hermes: "To bad, we can't just tell everyone what we know, you know what happens to the people who go public with this."
Loki: "Yeah. But why tell me?"
Hermes: "I'm looking out for my people, if 2 people are fighting for the top spot that's fine but if one person gets a stranglehold on it, that's bad for everyone, especially if it's someone like her."
Loki: "So you can't afford for me to lose or win, smart man. Well, thanks for the heads up, Hermes."
Hermes: "Anytime, well I best be on my way now, good look with what's coming."
Loki: "You too."
As Hermes exits the office Loki quickly rushes out of the door and burst into Finn's office.
Finn: "Uh Loki, do you need something?"
Loki: "Yes, after careful deliberation I've decided to make Lefiya Viridis an executive member of the Loki familia with full perks. Make filing that with the guild your top priority above everything else, and keep this between us until I say otherwise."
Finn: "Alright I'll have it done right away."
Loki: "Alright that's all." 'Well, at least she'll be safe, too bad I can't do that with everyone, damn it'.
