章節 16: Chapter 16
As I sit there I just cry. I can't believe I might lose my powers. The only thing I have left from my mother. I hear footsteps approaching then a door open and close then Captain America and Tony Stark walk into view. Cap sees me up and says "feeling better?" I shake my head no tears still in my eyes as I wipe them away trying to act strong. Cap says "What's wrong?" I speak carefully unsure of how much I should tell with Stark here "The poison I was...I came into contact with has been in my system too long and I'm losing my powers. They were the last thing my mother gave to me before...." I still can't say it aloud even after all these years. I feel if I were to say it aloud then it would be real because deep down I don't want to believe she is gone forever.
He looks at me with concern in his eyes because he or anyone has never seen me like this. I am normally very controlling on what emotions people see very calculating to get what I want or need but not this time this is just raw emotion coming out.
Tony then says" I think we have a lot to talk about kid." I protest without thinking "I'm not a kid anymore!" I quickly cover my mouth realizing what I just said might give me away. Tony stands there for a minute what I said must not have registered or he's not as smart as he claims to be. Then he speaks "Cap can you give us a minute?" Cap just nods and leaves.
Tony and I are alone and it's abnormally silent. I try honing my senses as my mother taught me they may not be strong as they were once but something isn't right and I want to know what to I close my eyes as Stark is talking though I don't hear a word of what he is even saying. Then I hear the sound of a demon approaching. I jump up out of the hospital bed and start looking through the different medicines and chemicals trying to come up with a plan then I have an idea Thor's hammer is made out of a similar material maybe just maybe we will have a chance to win without my full powers and my sword.
Stark places a hand on my shoulder and says "Are you even listening to me?" I shake my head no formulating a plan with what I've got. Then I hear a crash and alarms begin to blare all around me. And I say "It's here you need to assemble the Avengers quickly or you all might not survive this because what is to come is worse than anything you have faced before. And I have a plan to stop it for good."
