Skylar's POV
My parents had always told me to never answer or even open texts from unknown numbers, and I've always obeyed. But this time when I received one, I was way too curious to not open it.
And that all happened in my Chemistry class. Mr Nicholas was pacing in front of his desk, gesturing with his hands as he tried explaining us the different types of inorganic chemical reactions.
I was trying my best to concentrate on the words coming out of his mouth, trying to remember all that he was explaining, but it seemed way too impossible at that moment. Unlike Hanna sitting beside me, I wasn't even making notes. Something felt wrong in this classroom. I just couldn't pay attention; one way or another, my mind would wander off to something else. Like why the kid in front of me was tapping his foot repeatedly. Or why Mr. Nicholas's hair was standing up at the back of his head.
That's exactly when I felt my phone vibrate.
