章節 60: Unreachable Depth of Mind

It was almost midnight when Marvel and Gilbert arrived at the mansion. They walked through the stairs in silence - just the two of them - and except for the guards, nobody else was around.

Besides that it was already so late, for an unknown reason, Marvel didn't let his underlings celebrate his homecoming, and of course, they did as they were told.

"You're so kind, Boss."

Hearing that, Marvel flinched and halted, immediately turning to Gilbert behind him who had just broken the absence of sound between them.

The boss eyed his secretary rather suspiciously, but much more surprisingly, before finally studying the face he made. The secretary smiled.

"You gave him another chance because he's been loyal to the Family for years. You forgave him, just, a lesson or two was still needed."

Even without naming it, Marvel immediately knew Gilbert was talking about Glenn, one of the guardsmen.

"I forgave him? When did I do that?"
