It was a special family occasion which was more sort of a fight in a wrestling court to look stronger and more dependable than the other family members. 

She wondered how did David do? Was he still behind and under his stepbrother's hand or did he make his way through to get noticed?

David moved inside the kitchen and opened the lights where he was greeted by his stepmom, Madison who didn't look very happy, sitting by the kitchen island. 

She was in her nightgown with her hair tied up in a bun. She was holding a glass of water in her hand and she put it down forcefully on the kitchen counter upon David's sight. She pushed herself up from the seat and walked towards David. 

"Why did you miss the dinner?" She hissed at him. 

"Because I wasn't feeling like it." He replied flatly.
