章節 193: Choice of fate

Marlena was getting ready for bed when a maid came into her room and bowed. 

"You don't need to bow," she corrected the maid, but gave up when she remembered this was not the first time she was telling the castle servants they didn't need to treat her differently just because the mother queen had recognized her as a princess. It would only fall on deaf ears again.

"I came to help you get ready for bed, your highness." Said the maid. 

She did not need help getting ready for bed. Although Regina always helped her, it was only because they liked spending time this way. She could do it herself. But alas, the mother queen had chosen this maid to be her handmaiden and she was afraid saying no would make the maid appear incompetent. So while it made her uncomfortable, she sat by the vanity and gave the wooden brush she was using to the maid. 

"I think we have met before. Your name is Diana, right?" She asked the maid.
