Alena slipped into the shower washing her hair, and body. A pair of hands emerged from the walls. She screamed. A hand placed itself firmly across her mouth. It whispered. ‘Shh. Ignore them.’
She turned looking into his ice blue eyes. ‘Exodus.’
He took his hand away from her mouth replacing it with his lips, kissing her hungrily. Wrapping her legs round his waist making love to her, his nails scoring down her body.
He pulled away. ‘I’ll see you down in the club.’
He’d gone before she had any questioning of to how he got there.
Alena slipped out of the shower turning it off before changing, unable to believe that she was actually going down to the club where he had taken her from only a week ago. To be with him.
She closed the flat door making her way down the stairway that led to the club, she swallowed before opening the door to the club. She stepped into the club closing the exit door she walked towards Exodus spotting some old school friends who called her over to them. ‘Shortie!’
Alena smiled walking over to them not even establishing Exodus by the bar where he was waiting for her.
‘Hey Shortie.’
‘Stac.’
‘So what you doing hiding out here? You and Griegh had an argument?’
‘No.’
‘So who are you with?’
‘No one. I’m on my own.’ She lied.
‘Cool, what you having?’
‘A B and C.’
‘Sure.’
Stacey walked away and over to the bar where Zephyr was serving. ‘So what can I get you?’
‘One B and C, and three shots.’
‘Sure.’ He said winking at her.
She blushed.
Zephyr poured the drinks placing them on the bar. ‘On the house.’
She looked at him. ‘No I can’t.’
‘You can.’
She looked at him speechless as he leaned over the bar. ‘I’ll see you after closing.’ He said kissing her on the cheek.
She smiled trying not to blush picking up the four glasses walking away. Walking over to Alena and her friends. ‘He’s cute.’
‘Who?’
‘The guy behind the bar.’
‘Can’t say I ever noticed.’
‘Come on Shortie he’s hot. He’s asked me to meet him after closing.’
‘You can’t be serious.’
‘Yeah.’
‘Not this again Stac. No we’re going home, you’re not meeting a guy you don’t know.’
‘They’re right Stac.’
‘Anyway.’ Stacey said swiftly moving on away from the though of not seeing the hot barman after closing. ‘A toast to getting out of the hell hole.’
‘You moving Stac?’
‘Yeah, not nearly soon enough if you ask me.’
‘Where you going?’
‘Me and the girls are heading up to the state. You can join us if you like.’
‘I’d love to, but.’
‘Griegh right.’
‘Yeah.’
‘Never mind. Maybe he’ll take you out there. There’s a shit load of clubs there.’
‘Sounds good.’
‘Anyway here’s to friendship, and moving on.’
‘Friendship and moving on.’ They chorused clinking their glasses together downing their drinks.
They all went onto the dance floor dancing all through till the morning Exodus watching, along with Zephyr and two other vampires.
Exodus slipped behind Alena placing his arms round her holding her tight. Moving her with him kissing her neck.
Her friends stopped looking at her confused.
She looked at them. ‘Wha!’
‘I thought you said you were alone?’
‘You told you’re friends you were alone?’
‘Yeah but.’ She said stuck for words.
Her friends looking at her for answers.
‘Guys this is Exodus he owns the club. He’s been looking after me since I’ve been here.’
‘Nice to meet you ladies.’
‘You too.’
‘How long have you been here Shortie?’
‘Not sure, about a week.’
‘Woowh, guess you and Griegh have split.’
‘Yeah.’
‘Bummer.’
‘She’s fine. She’s with me now.’
The slows came on Exodus wrapped his arms round Alena, she placed her head on his chest.
‘We’re going now Shortie. Think about what I said.’
‘Will do. Bye Stac, guys.’
‘See ya Shortie.’
They all walked away Exodus looked over at Zephyr and nodded. He nodded at the two other vampires. Leaping over the bar following the three girls out of the club.
‘So, Shortie that’s’ not your real name is it?’
‘No nickname.’
‘Another one?’
‘Yeah. They’ve always called it me. I was the shortest in our year, guess it stuck.’
‘Oh.’
He looked at her. ‘Well you’re my little Shortie, Angel.’ He said placing his lips on hers kissing her before she had chance to reflect.
‘Hey where do you think you’re going?’
Stacey turned. ‘Home.’
‘I thought we had a date?’
‘I’m sorry. Maybe another time.’
She turned he stood a foot taller than her, his eyes focused on hers. ‘I don’t take too well to rejection.’
‘I’m sorry, but I’ve really got to go home.’
‘Come on Stac. We’ve got to get a cab.’
‘Five minutes.’
She looked at him.’ ‘I’m sorry.’
She sprung up on tip toe kissing him.
‘Come on Stac.’
She moved away. ‘I’ll come back okay.’
She ran over to her friends. ‘Come on Stac, we’ve got to catch a cab.’
‘You won’t get one this time of morning.’
They all turned looking questionly at Zephyr. Two vampires closing in on them. They grabbed the other.
‘What’s going on Stac?’
‘I don’t know.’
‘I’m scared Stac.’
Zephyr grabbed Stacey, pulling her away from her friends, she restricted him. ‘Let me go.’
‘I thought you liked me?’
‘I do.’
‘Come with me then.’
‘I can’t. My friends.’
‘They’ll be fine.’
‘But.’
‘Come.’
He pulled her away from their screams asking her for their help, and to get out of there.
The two vampires grabbed her friends pulling them close ripping into their flesh feeding off them as there screams echoed across the silent city.
Stacey turned alarmed by their change of scream more high pitched than their last. ‘Kel! Jackie!’
‘Come on.’
‘But.’
‘They’ll be fine, now come.’ He lied pulling her with him.
‘Where are you taking me?’
He closed the door of a small bungalow behind him saying nothing. He flicked a switch lighting the bungalow. They flicked. He finally spoke. ‘Damn electrics.’
She smiled nervously.
He pulled her into the bedroom, down onto the bed looking directly into her eyes. ‘I really like you Stac.’ He said guiding his hand down her face making her nervous.
‘I like you too.’
‘I want to show you something.’
‘Sure what is it?’
‘Promise you want scream?’
‘I promise.’
His eyes rolled back turning to flames his face peeling away, she sat silent containing her fear and her screams. What exactly was he?
His face pure red in colour with red horns.
‘What the..’
‘Do you still want me?’
‘I..’
He placed his lips on hers kissing her, his lips burning into hers burning her skin as he continued to kiss her harder and harder, as she tried to scream out from the pain. He took her hands pushing them onto the bed as he made love to her, her body burning overheating.
He pulled away losing her hands. Sitting besides her placing his hand on her face. She screamed silently. ‘I’ll come back I promise.’
He took his hand off her face leaving its imprint upon it. Walking out of the room leaving her alone. Her tears cold her body froze.
Zephyr walked through the town his face re-constructing as he smiled evilly.
Exodus pulled away from Alena. ‘I’ll see you up stairs.’
‘Okay.’
Alena walked out of the club heading up to the flat upstairs. The two vampires walked in Exodus looked at them. ‘Our friends?’
‘Dealt with.’
‘Where’s Zep?’
‘Getting horny.’
Zephyr walked in.
‘Did you deal with the girl?’
‘Sure did.’
‘Good. I’ll see you of the eve. Lock up.’
‘Will do.’
Exodus walked away going out the back up to the flat.
‘So what did you do with her?’
‘She’s somewhere he won’t find her.’
‘Alive?’
‘Only for my pleasure.’
‘He won’t be too pleased.’
‘Why should I care? He’s got her so why can’t I have something of my own?’
‘But a human.’
‘She is.’
‘True.’
They collected all the empty glasses placing them behind the bar. ‘I’ll see you tomorrow.’
‘Sure Zep.’
‘Take care of the girl.’
‘I will.’
He locked the door behind them before he placed the glasses in the sink to drain. Sweeping up forcing himself up stairs into the flat closing and locking the door behind him going into his room dropping to his bed closing his eyes.
Exodus looked at Alyna. ‘So did you enjoy tonight?’
‘Yeah.’
‘You should join me down there more often.’
‘I might.’
‘Your friends.’
‘What about them?’
‘Did you know they were coming?’
‘No why?’
‘No reason just curious.’
‘Oh right.’
‘So they weren’t the ones that told you not to come?’
‘Who Stac, don’t be silly. She’s too up and out in herself to say no. she would’ve been here with me if she knew that I was coming.’
‘So why wasn’t she?’
‘It’s the first time I’ve seen her in the last month okay.’
‘So why did you decide to come alone?’
‘I needed a change. I was bored, I needed excitement. I’d heard a lot about this place so I decided to come and find out for myself.’
‘So do you like it?’
‘Yeah.’
‘Good.’
He leaned forward placing his lips on hers kissing her.
He moved away lying besides her, holding her close closing his eyes.
