Alexander’s P.O.V.-
“No one wants to do that Alpha. With all due respect.” Said the Beta. I let out a huff of breath and turn in my rolling chair.
For the past 3 hours we’ve been sitting in this meeting room. My fingers drum impatiently against the smooth oak table. All of my papers scatter in front of me, so I start to file them together until their in a neat stack.
To my left sits all the important pack members from each division, and on the right is me, Aren, Christian and Oscar. We really didn’t need to be here, but since we are the future and this is a big matter, they wanted us here to see how things are done.
Currently, they’ve been yelling at each other for about 30 minutes now. They are trying to figure out a plan against Sasha. It’s been a couple of days and her nor her people of Insofar have acted. No breeches in the borders or randomly dead bodies lying around.
The Beta and some of the other members want to not act on anything and wait until Sasha does something. With her being dangerous and unpredictable she could do practically anything. Insofar is known for having the best fighters and strong army. We, on the other hand are one of the most powerful packs in Nygaard, but are smaller in size. Gamma Parbat is the best fighter I’ve ever seen, but not as good as Insofar’s own Sylo Sniper.
Whereas my father, the Alpha, and the Gamma and others want to do something now. Which honestly, I support, not because it’s my father but because it’s a good plan. If we take on Sasha right now it’ll be by surprise and she won’t see it coming.
Looking over I can see the Beta’s, Christian’s father, starting to get rather angry. He doesn’t usually get angry, but when someone defies him, he really can’t control it.
“So, what you want to do is stay here and wait until she makes a move?” asked the Gamma.
“That is exactly what I want to do, Charles. She is unpredictable, we don’t want to do anything until we know actually what she is doing.” Henry, the Beta, gets out of his chair. Henry stands at almost 6ft tall. The man is not that intimating, but with his height you would think he is.
“Yeah.” said Kal chiming in to the conversation. Kal, being the leader of the scouts in Nygaard knows how dangerous she really is. When they were hunting her in the beginning, she ends up killing two of his best scouts. “I’m out there in the woods everyday while you all, no disrespect, are huddled up in this humble abode. Me and boys are out there, risking our lives to keep you safe I know the dangers.”
Henry walks in front of the room. HIs dominance and confidence vibrate throughout the room, “I say we act now. She could be sitting at home in Insofar on her throne polishing her swords waiting to take us out right now.”
“That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard.” One of the members on the board said.
“Do you think you could fight Sasha?” My father asked the pack member. “Insofar has an influx of red wolfs, who by the way have tons of power if you weren’t aware.” The member, whom my father just kind of yelled at, cowards under his own long hair.
“Also, they have the best fighter that has ever lived, Sylo Sniper.” Everyone in the room chills when his name is spoken. Sylo Sniper, the leader of the daughters and sons of Sylo. He takes them from birth and trains them into fighting robot machines. They feel or see nothing but vengeance and hate.
One of their fighters, Piper Pryde, is the scariest of them all. She took down 6 men all by herself, without leaving with a scratch on her tiny body. I’ve seen her once, even I was kind of scared and I’m a future Alpha.
“He’s known as the Dragon Snake which is really cool name.” said Aren who's sitting across the table, chewing on her pink bubble gum. Everyone’s eyes turn towards her, mostly her father gives her the evil eye. Aren may act tough, but around her father she cowers up like courage the cowardly dog. “Sorry Ba.” She tells him.
“Doesn’t matter if he’s the Dragon Snake, Red Wolf, or IT the clown. We will not back down to anyone, we are the most powerful pack for a reason.” He’s got a point; my great-grandfather Ivan went to war against a pack in Dane. They had less man than them but defeated them like it was nothing. Courage and determination are literally in my blood.
“I stand with the Alpha.”
“Me too.”
As everyone in the room keeps rambling on and on, I slug myself into my chair. I really would like to be spending my time with Quinneth. It’s currently been a week since we last talked. I have sent her a few messages, but none since then. I knew that she was angry with me, but not that angry.
We’ve had our arguments, but none this serious. When I’m not around her I feel. . .off. And I know she feels the same thing. I miss the smell of her hair, the touch of her velvety skin and the way she laughs loudly.
“Alexander.” Says a voice in my head. I sit up in my chair, my body on high alert. On the right Aren and Christian notice my weird behavior. Both their eyes and body go on high alert also, almost like were feeling and hearing the same thing.
“Dude. . .you, ok?” asked Christian.
“Yeah, you look paler than usual man.” Aren’s hand comes on mine.
“I’m fine chill out.” I tell the both of them. I close my eyes real tight and try to listen in on what they say. I've been thinking about her way too much, it's just my mind playing tricks on me. In a matter of minutes, the voice comes back.
“Alexander.” The voice sounds familiar, like. . .Quinneth’s. But she isn’t in this room, house or nowhere on the Pack. Trust me I would know someone would have notified me. Her voice sounds faint. . .and shaky.
How is she talking to me in my head, I never taught her how to Channel? Neither did anyone else. I try to focus in on her, to see if she says anything else. I clear my head, forcing out all my thoughts and the voices around me to a screeching halt. Nothing else matters but her, she must be in trouble or scared out of her mind.
“Alexander. . .I’m trapped in Oslow, I need you to come and save me and Katana. Sasha has us trapped here.” She says to me. My eyes start to widen in fear, Sasha, the red wolf, has my girl. Oh, when I get ahold of her, I’m going to wring her neck.
Forget staying at home trying to wait until Sasha comes to us, I say we go to her. If that’s what she wants that is what she will get. From her talking to me I can feel her. She’s nervous and scared. Her body is freezing, shivers run throughout her body. I have to save her. . .I need to save her.
Towards the door I hear two people walk in the doors, they smell of humans. I don’t even pay any attention to them, only focusing on what I can do. I could hear them talking to my father, but I paid them no mind.
In that moment, I knew what I needed to do. Go and find her myself. Rising up out of my chair everyone focuses their attention on me.
I only say a few words before I walk out the room, “Quinneth, she’s in trouble.”
I start charging down the hallway, many voices and feet follow me quickly down the hall. I’m on a mission and that is to save Quinneth at all cost. I knew that she would do the same thing for me.
Opening the glass door, I start to take my clothes off ready to shift.
“Where are you going? It’s late.” Looking towards the willow tree, I see Zeta Titan. A cigarette hangs out of her mouth. Pink lipstick stains the stick.
“ Danger. I have to go get Quinneth.” She takes out her cigarette and puts it out with her foot.
“Quinneth? She’s at Club Ten why would she need help there.”
“No, she’s in some prison being held by Sasha.” I stop what I’m doing and give her a speculating look. “Wait? She went to Club Ten, how do you know that?” From what I know Zeta has never met Quinneth.
“I was there last night with Will. We had a conversation about you. She’s really cute I see why you like her.” I would further this conversation, but I really need to go.
Before I try and leave again my father and the others come outside. “Son, you can’t go and find Quinneth yourself you’ll die before you get in.” The wind carries his voice over to me.
“What do you want me to do? Sit and wait until Sasha decides to be nice and give Quinneth back? I will die to save her.” Behind him stands Vet. “Vet, they have Katana too.” His eyes widen.
“Alexander, come inside. We’ll make a plan and then go.”
“No- I don’t want t-”
“Alex son your father is right. I want to save Katana just as much as you want to save Quinneth. We can’t just walk in there with no plan. Let's plan.” I work this over in my head, even not being in my right mind I know their right.
“Fine, let’s plan.”
