CHAPTER 16
Night had fallen already, and everything seemed to be fine.
At the monsters chamber,the prince and his friends were discussing with the monsters,about what happened earlier,"We fired the rocks at the snake,and she was all Bleh! Bleh! Bleh!",a monster said,acting like a worm.
They all laughed.
A monster then said,looking excited, "We should have a celebration to celebrate our victory today"," Yeah!!",others agreed,rejoicing at their decision.
That when the prince laughed and said to all of them,"Indeed!,we should have a celebration. But how can we?Your master won't agree".They all looked at themselves, and thought about it.
The prince could see that they were all thinking about what he said,and a sign was showing on them,that they agree.
He chuckles and said,"After all,he's your master.You can't do anything without his permission".He sighs,pretending to be sad for them.
All the monsters had a long face.They felt as if Reed wasn't going to allow them.
"God!.If I was still in control, I would have thrown a party for all of you.But am not", he said, acting sad.
The monsters nodded their head,feeling sad for him.Not until they heard a voice at the door that said," Sad stories do exist In some peoples life,like yours".
On hearing the voice,the prince mood changed into an angry one.He turns his head to the direction of the door,and sees Reed,leaning against the wall.
He had a smile on his face,which always annoyed the prince,anytime he smiles like that and looks at him.
Reed walked inside,still looking at the prince eye ball to eye ball.
A monster stood up for him to sit down,and he sat down,still looking at the prince, who stared back at him in anger,"Keep on looking Blue eyes.I'll soon pluck them out for you",the prince had thought devilishly.
Reed folded his arms and said,"I heard your story,and it's kind of sad.Because you're in it.And I feel sad for you,really sad.Any way..",he faces his monsters, "..I heard what all of you were saying.So I've decided that there would be a party".
Immediately, all of them cheered,and some jumped in excitement.
" But it will hold tomorrow, in the night.So get ready",he stands to leave.
All the monsters began to praise him.
He smiles at them,then focuses his attention on the prince,who didn't even know that Reed was looking at him."He think he's smart.Wants to turn my men against me.Nah!,he doesn't even know who he's dealing with".
"If he's looking for trouble, then I'll give it to him".
Later,at Reed's room,Esther had fallen asleep beside Deborah. She was bored,being the only one with her friend,so she slept.
Deborah was beside her,sleeping peacefully. She stretched her arms a little,thinking she was on the ground, in the dungeon," Wow..this floor seems to have changed soft",she said,feeling relaxed.
She opened her eyes slowly, and notices the difference.
She opened her eyes clearly and saw that she was in Reed's room, "This is Reed's room", she said,sitting up and looking round.
Her movement on the bed,woke Esther up.Esther saw that she was awake,and she became happy," Deborah! ",she hugged her.
" You're here?.I didn't notice you at all","How's your health?Does your head still hurt?","My head?".She reaches for her head,touch the place where she had injured and becomes stunned.
"Hey!,there's nothing here"," Really?!",Esther asked,checking her head.
"Wow!,that rotten root sure works.I'll ask Reed to give me some"," Reed?",Deborah asked, looking at Esther.
"Yes,Reed.He applied the rotten root on your wound,and now your head is looking cute", she rubs it.
Deborah was surprised to hear that," Reed treated my wounds?.He did it with his own hands again",she blushed,thinking about it.
"If only I was awake, I would have seen when he was applying it on me.It must have been magically", she thought to herself, still blushing seriously.
Esther stood up from the bed, and said to Deborah," Come on let's go,before the person that carried you here comes".She walks towards the door,waiting for Deborah.
On hearing that,Deborah stood up curiously and asked Esther,rushing towards her,"Who carried me here?, was it Reed? ".
Esther groaned at her and asked," Now why are you asking me this question madam?,should I call Reed,so that you can ask him","Not really. Just curious that's all",she smiled.
Esther noticed her swollen cheeks.It looked as if she was blushing,"Oh ho!,I see!.Someone is blushing after hearing that she was carried by the Almighty,good looking Reed","That's not true",she denied it,changing her face expression.
Esther teased and laughed at her as they were going.
Meanwhile, at the forbidden forest,all the demons were waiting for Zipora to show up.But there was no sign of her.
"Has she been killed?", one asked.
Another then said,shushing the other demon," Quiet,don't say that.Zipora is strong and skillful. She must be somewhere in the castle looking for the book","Don't fool yourselves demons.She isn't coming back",a deep voice said.
They all gasped on seeing the demon that spoke,and quickly bowed to him,"Lord Monrod".
A demon stood in the shadow,looking at all of the other demons,with his red glowing eyes.
His long sharp teeth could be seen in the dark.He was different from the others.More dangerous and skillful.
That's why he was made their leader.
"Zipora was killed this morning by Reed. So there's no need to wait for her".
" So what do we do?",one asked.
Lord Monrod then said,"Simple,..just continue with your own plans.And I'll think of a perfect plan soon.Just know that I won't let Reed live,after I've sent him back to where he belongs".
He disappears into the shadows,without a trace of him.
Back at the castle,Deborah and Esther had gone to meet the other girls in their room.
They were eating.
Esther had brought Deborah there,so that they could both eat together, as good friends.
On seeing Deborah, Lucy began to act like a queen, bragging about her beauty and so on,"They were all staring at me, as if I was a diamond treasure.Including Reed","No way","Really?!","Yes,really.I couldn't help but blush at him,because he was staring at me lovingly ",she lied,blushing like s fool.
Esther was watching her from a distance.She hissed and said to Deborah in a low tone of voice," Lies!.Reed didn't even look at her shadow, talk more of her ugly,gutter face",she hissed again.
Deborah wanted to laugh, but she held herself back and said,"Stop it.You know she's my sister","Hmmm sister indeed.Sister that left you all alone with me,in Reed's room,saying she can't waste her time on you.That's not a sister,that's a step sister".
Just as they were talking,One of the girls then announced to all of them,"When I was coming,I heard Reed saying that,..that..yes!,there was going to be a party tomorrow night","Party?!",they asked,looking excited.
"A party tomorrow night. This would be fun", a girl said.
They were all talking and talking about the party,looking really happy.
Esther and Deborah too were happy.What and what were they going to do there.
Suddenly, Lucy screamed excitedly, making others to wonder what happened," What's wrong?",they asked.
She said to all of them,"I have an idea.We're going to sing and dance in the party.A group dance".
Excited, they all agreed and praised her intelligence.
"We'll dress up like princesses,and we'll sing like angels and dance like goddesses in front of Reed. He'll be marvelled", she demonstrated.
They all clapped and agreed to it.
Tempted by the idea,Deborah felt like joining Lucy too.She then said,smiling at Lucy," May I join you in your dance group?".
Silent.
Lucy looked at the others and bursted into laughter, "Why will I let you join my group?,You know very well that I don't like you.So why do you want to join?,oh! you want to impress Reed right?".
They all laughed again.
Esther got up from where she was sitting,held Deborah's hand and said boldly to Lucy," You should be lucky that my friend here said she wanted to join your handicapped and malfunctioning group.Instead you're bragging ".
Lucy got angry at Esther,and pointed her finger at her," Stay out of this or else","Or else what?,you'll say or else again?,because that's the only thing you know how to say","You!..".
Lucy was furious.
She was about to slap Esther,when Deborah got hold of her hand,roughly.
Lucy looked at Deborah, then at her hand,then back at her and said,"You dare to hold my hand? "," How dare you raise your hand to slap my friend "Deborah sparked at her.
" I asked you nicely,to let me join your group,but you refused.Now,because my friend said the truth about your group,you dare to raise your hand to slap her".
Lucy groans at her angrily, and drags her hand away from Deborah's own.
"I don't need to join your group.I can create mine"," Really?,so it's a challenge now".
"Fine then,let's see what the two of you can do against all of us.Good luck"
Deborah didn't waste anytime.
She walked out of the room,with Esther following her from behind.
Furious, Esther felt like going back inside to beat Lucy,"Can you believe that chicken?.She wanted to slap me.You should have allowed her to do it,so that I'll show her my beating techniques ".
Deborah sighed and said,as they both walked through the castle passage," Just forget about her.Right now we need a plan,on how to create our group.We only have this night and tomorrow morning to practice "," That's true",Esther said,scratching her head.
She hissed and said to Deborah, "Don't worry yourself at all.Tomorrow we'll come up with a plan.But for now..", she held Deborah's hand,".. you need some rest.Because tomorrow, we're going to see some chicken dancing, Cluck! cluck! cluck!".
She began to act like a dancing chicken,meaning Lucy.
Deborah couldn't help but laugh at Esther, because of her funny dance moves.
They were both laughing and joking about the dance,not knowing that Reed was coming.
He was with his cyclops,who was telling him something about the next land," OK then,we'll go there next tomorrow. Tomorrow won't be possible. But make sure..".His eyes suddenly met with Deborah, who was laughing at Esther's dance.
Her way of laughing was beautiful, that any man would fall for it.
He stared at her,watching her dance with Esther and laugh.He began to feel strange,as he felt his heart racing all of a sudden.
"Master!"," Yes?!",he looked at the cyclops.
"You were about to say something", he reminded him.
" Em..yes.Make sure..".
His eyes fell on Deborah again, then he changed his statement, "Take my sword"," Why?!",the cyclops asked,collecting the sword.
"I want you to meet Deborah, and give her the sword.Tell her that you found it outside,so she should bring it to my room".
Confused,the cyclops asked," But I can just give you your sword here".
"Just do it.I'll be in my room", he said and walks away.
The cyclops seemed confused," How can I give the sword to Deborah, to give it to you,when you're in front of me.
Anyhow,I'll do it",he shrugs his shoulder and walks towards her.
