章節 179: Chapter 179: DAWN OF A NEW ERA

Days have passed and Samael's wounds were healing faster than he expected,

Stacy helped,

But what he thought would be a long painful wait,

Turned to be convenient.

Praise the witch's talent.

Praise Azazel's experiment.

However, due to his reputation as a demon,

No human and angel dared enter his spared room.

So he felt a bit lonely and unsatisfied, wondering why he does so,

Until a woman entered, but he doesn't seem to know.

"Do demons know when someone is carrying a demon child?"

Her question confused his mind.

Until he recalled that she may be the woman other angels were muttering about,

The one who sacrificed her purity for the sake of gathering information,

for the sake of hope and love.

He looked at her belly, and it took him not too long to recognize the smell.

Even if he haven't socialized well,

He knows the difference of any species' scent.

He remembers how Azazel trained him to know everything by its smell,

So he can be ready from whatever may come,

And having been close to Selaphiel,

He was sure that Callista right now, doesn't smell like an angel.

"Your child had more demonic smell than an angel,

He or she would probably grow up to be like them,"

"No...but, even so, he'd still live a good life, he won't do anything bad!"

"Don't vent your frustrations to me, dear. I can't do anything, I'm no God."

Upset by the revelation,

And fear taking over her,

She storms out of the room,

As she prayed so hard,

Even willing to give up her soul.

Emotions. Desires.

Isn't it what fuels temptation?

She continously asks herself,

As she still ponders the answer,

To her dreaded question.

What would help her child?

Would he turn out like her?

...

Ken couldn't help but feel himself floating yet again,

But than fear and sadness, it was peace and nostalgia than was imprinted in his brain.

He felt light, as if his problems were lifted up,

And amidst the darkness, he saw the same woman of shining white.

Her vail covers most of her face,

But her green eyes were too distinct,

She smiled at him softly,

This time, it seemed like she really is talking to him.

What baffles him however, was that he knew she was long dead,

And yet somehow, she called his name.

Her smile looks assuring, so gentle,

As she touches his chin, "I've so much to tell.."

And she took him in a garden,

Filled with flowers, green and red.

And when he went towards it,

He swore he feels its softness,

smelled its scent.

He wondered what this dream was about,

As it feels more dreamy than the visions he had in the past.

This one feels much personal, as he wasn't being ignored,

And the feeling he feels as he touches the flowers,

felt more believable.

The dreamy place made him a bit distracted,

As soft hands held his.

The lady of white sadly looked at her,

"Don't end up like me,

Whom lived life so short."

Tears of regret fell in her eyes,

As she thanks God for her final gift and prize,

She admired that Ken was what her lineage has ended up with,

Another hero, a man with will.

"Ken, I may not know you a lot,

But...I've been told you were learning fast.

I'm very proud of my sons,

Though you look quite like me,

Especially the shape of your eyes."

Ken didn't know what to feel,

Or what the point still is,

But it felt like her final goodbye,

A final fulfillment of her wish.

So he gave her a smile,

And held her hand tight.

And though he doesn't know her as well,

Tears fell from his big brown eyes.

She felt so familiar,

Despite being a mystery to him,

She felt so...tragic,

Despite the smile that accompanied her face.

"I have so many regrets,

But marrying the love of my life isn't.

I'm just upset that I haven't lived a long life with him,

He must be so lonely, wasn't he?

I wonder if my other descendants look like my husband,

Have you seen one?"

The woman excitedly asked.

Ken shook his head,

Until he remembered Sellena,

With red brown hair and a serious mask.

"Does he look...serious? With eyes sharp and calm?

Does he have the same stance, as a proud yet elegant royal?

Does he...by any chance, have pinkish skin like yours?

Does he, by any chance, also seemed quite tall?"

"He is serious, and have sharp shaped eyes,

And he does look princey, but not the exaggerated type.

But I guess the pink skin is just mine alone,

His skin color, is just like your own."

"Oh."

"Anyways, why do you ask?"

"I've seen someone, just like that.

I was told she and I were somehow connected,

Though...we haven't personally met."

"Well, I'm saddened as well,

I wouldn't be able to meet her, but I have something to tell.

I am proud of your accomplishments,

But what we have is a curse, and not a talent.

Forgive me for not banishing this curse,

As I was told by the spirit of my ancestor,

That the world will be in dangered,

And we can help, this, the power we hold.

I asked the heavens to let me see at least one of my beloved family one last time,

Even in a dream, it will still be fine.

And you are my family, my final reminder of what good decisions I've made,

But I beg of you, not to rely much on our superficial strength.

You may be good as what I can see,

But there is darkness forming deep within.

I ask you not to forgive your enemies,

But...at least, even for a bit, give them a bit of emphaty.

Our family is cursed because of greed,

Many innocent suffered, what one sow, we reap.

And yet, we must see the good in all things,

So I beg of you, to have more patience,

more kindness,

and you'd win.

And after that, after the world is at peace,

Maybe the heavens will lift this curse from us,

And no one will be able to see.

All those spirits, all those noise,

No one will be given this burden,

Your children will all happily grow.

Ken, I've lost one of my sons once because of hatred,

And I do not want to lose you too,

So use your heart, and be a fighter,

Help form a happy, better future.

One day, you'll get rid of those eyes,

And faded will be these scars.

One day, you'll be able to smile,

Without any fear of a monster jumping in surprise.

Ken, please hand this message to the future of our blood,

We can make it out, all of us, if we just have-"

Her final message was abruptly cut,

As he was jolted awake by Martha's loud cries.

"Ken! It's Angel Callista!"

Though a bit disappointed he haven't heard the message in full,

Mar's expression worried him so much the thoughts flew.

"Why? What happened?"

He asked as he quickly sat up from bed.

Mar quickly took his hand as he went to the angel's room,

Where several people, gathered to mourn.

Callista looked pale, so thin, with her light fading quick,

And Ken although just awoken, had his eyes rarely blink.

He was distraught at the image laid before him,

And hoped it was just a bitter dream.

She may not be his trainer, nor someone who is always involved,

But she was kind, and her company was genuine at most.

She never meant harm for anyone,

And just wanted to be alive.

To serve, to love.

But it seemed like her fear ate her whole,

As she couldn't risk having her child wander to wrong.

She held the baby, surprisingly healthy,

As Ken peeked mesmerized, curious of how it came to be.

He heard that even for demons, it would still take a few months,

So how come, it still looked healthy,

despite the lack of time?

Callista sas the confusion in his mind,

And despite being so weak, spoke to clear it up.

"I've given my power, all I have,

Just so I can see, my little child.

He looks so angelic isn't he?

And...though I'll be done in another minute,

At least from all desires and emotions, my son will be free.

It's a cheap payment to ensure he'd have a good future,

I now understand the pride, the joy, as a mother.

Ken, you do understand, right?

I was told he's a demon, so I have to erase some qualities left behind.

With this, he'd be an angel, or maybe a human! and I want you to teach him, all there is to life.

I've been protecting humans all my life,

Is it not too much to ask,

If I entrust you with my son's?

I know, I don't have much time."

Ken looked at her, as she hands him the little child,

The child didn't even cried, he was perfect, devoid from what made humans the way they are.

He looks at her, unable to utter a word,

As she breathes her last,

and closed her eyes forevermore.

When she was gone and nothing but specs of dust in the air,

Lluming vented his frustrations, and commented how her decisions were in no near sane.

Michael however, stopped Lluming and told him nothing will change,

As they look at Ken holding the little child,

"Since Callista seemed to be fond of you,

Would you care to give him a name?"

Ken haven't named a child all his life,

And haven't imagined the scenario yet.

But he looked at Mar quickly,

And felt something lit in his chest.

The desire to see the future.

He smiles softly, and though still stunned,

Looked at the little child.

"How about Dawn?

I know it seems simple and I'm not good with naming people but...

I feel like this child,

Will be the start of something better."

"Dawn fits him for sure."

Lluming agreed, as his heart melted when the child briefly cooed.

He may be upset that Callista did something so recklessly,

But seeing that she wanted to save this...

This precious child from the chance of turning evil.

He felt his heart suddenly start hurting less.

"He really looks like he'd turn into something...very great,

Ah,

The first appearance of light before sunrise,

Dawn, is truly a perfect name."
