章節 82: Teleporter

Gripping the Owl shape pummel sword in his hands. Zariel stared without emotion at the Young Fallen glaring a hole into him.

"Where is she?" Aurelia demanded, with a livid expression readying her stance. Her grip around her silver blade tightened. "Where is Astra?'

Snorting air from his nostril in a defiant manner, the young lord childishly sneered, "It's Coo. Not this Astra! How many times must I say this!"

"Damn it, Zariel, give me my owl!"

"It's mine! I found her! Not you! She is mine!"

"We girls need to stick together."

"Screw your gender roles." Shouted the Young Lord, tensing his muscles like a viper ready to strike.

Cloaking their bodies in Arcana, of Silver and Gold respectfully. A brewing storm of tension thundered through the air between the two.

Parting her bare feet upon the icy snow, Aurelia charged forth, racing through the air, she struck towards Zariels neck.

Flashing his free hand, Zariel made two strokes with Arcana that floated through thin air—forming into a rune that glowed with a weak hum. Aurelia's blade wisped through the air. However, as her blade came into the Duke's space, her sword was suddenly ricocheted from out of her hands.

Try as she could, Aurelia's sword flew high in the air when Zairels blade speared its way onto her neck, cutting the skin. Her eyes could not have grown wider.

"I have taught you many runes. All that is left is for you to combine them and start forming Wards." He explained, sheathing his blade in a swift clink. "My wards will allow you to take in Arcana, physical hits, and elemental forces.

"To tell you the truth, it's almost impossible to hurt me in a surprise attack."

Startled where she stood, the glint of Aurelia blade pierced into the ground a ways away. Glancing back to her sword and to the silver lord staring back at her, Aurelia bobbed her petite head.

"To me, Warding is a way of controlling the battlefield. Where there is chaos, you will be able to gain some semblance of control, where there is nothing but death. Flashback to your battle with that large spider. Tell me, if Ella was not here, what would have happened to you?"

"Death. I would have died." Aurelia replied, casting her gaze low.

"Correct. Warding is like a second life that requires very little Arcana unless you wish it. It's a powerful tool I use to this day."

"Is that why you were surprised when I injured you in that tomb?"

Nodding grimly, the faint laughter of a particular nightmare rang through Zariels spirit. "Yes. But that's a different story. When we arrive at the Capital, I will teach you. We have a few months till the academy starts."

Walking to her sword, Aurelia placed her blade into its sheath. "How are we actually getting there? The Capital is about six months away, and we only have two months."

"I drew a teleporting rune. Even if I can't use the Dao of Heaven, that doesn't mean I cannot twist its nature and use it as I please. We are leaving today. Why do you think Sionn and Ella are not here. They are packing."

"Damn it, dumb-dumb! Why didn't you tell me!" The young fallen screamed, rushing away in haste.

Entering her room within the east wing, Aurelia pulled out a large crate from under her bed. Rushing towards her closet, she began pulling all her tunics and gowns into her baggage.

Not taking the time to fold or sort, she stuffed her clothing in. when the sounds of coos suddenly ran within her head as a tiny baby owl flew through the air.

Astra cooed with glee, covered in emerald tip feathers. The little owl landed upon Aurelia's shoulder, poking her cheek with her feathery head.

"Cooo?"

"Your back! Where were you?" Scolded Aurelia firmly," You were supposed to follow us but didn't! Bad! Bad!"

Rubbing her head against the fallen cheeks, Astra ignored Aurelia's scolding words continuing to coo with joy.

Pursing her lips, Aurelia wasted no more time, continuing to pack ignorant of the sparkle of the Beaty owl's eyes. Zariel had never said anything regarding it, but Astra, who Aurelia had named, was very intelligent.

Despite its ability not to truly have the same level of self-awareness as a human, Astra was very well capable of casting spells.

Aurelia stared at her luggage brimming with clothing. A hesitant expression branded the little girl's complexion. As she looked into her closet at the various weapons she had gathered.

"Let them go. You already have a weapon. You will be fine, not to mention the one you saw yesterday is looking for a weapon for you." Zariel uttered, crossing her threshold into her room. He sat upon her bed, rolling his eyes at the mess within her room.

Disgusted at the various clothing dirty and clean clothes on the floor, he sighed, "I know you bought these clothes but is it that hard to put them away? That one still has a tag on it, and it's on the floor."

"We pay rent! So Aurelia can do what she wants." Said the little girl, rushing to add in a few weapons into her already filled luggage.

"We will be returning to Yrinas for missions via the teleporter. Leave a few clothes." He informed, lifting himself off her bed, "now let's go. It's still dawn, and we have much to learn."

"But, but, I'm not done!"

"Yes, you are, now come on," Zariel informed, pointing towards the exit.

"No! Look at this dress. Ella said the Capital has a beach! Aureli has never been to one! Let me bring it!"

Let's go!'

"NOOOO!!!"

"Danm it, Aurelia, not again!" Zariel howled, pulling the young devil gripping her bed frame. "I can bring more!"

'Weaken,' Zariel chanted, drawing a complex hex that struck her back. Dropping a bit limp, Zariel lifted her petite body in one arm and her luggage in the other.

"Damn you, Dumb-Dumb," The Fallen weakly muttered, with drool slipping off her lips.

Heading deep into the central wing, Zariel locked eyes upon Ella and Sionn. With a bit of luggage utterly different from the massive crate he was carrying.

Taking the time to examine Ella's elvan features, he tossed her a small ring, "Put this on your finger. It will hide your heritage." He said, letting the hex upon Aurelia fade away.

"Now remember, do not for any reason go out on your own."
