章節 39: Warfare

Unknown to the clan of Bloodmaw, Dreadtooth was getting ready for something. Something rather huge. Clans of large sizes were normally not needed unless you plan to use them. Use them to show off your power.

Was it necessary though? To start something so large as war?

Life had shown time and time again that it was not going to let up. Sure, to be chosen was a good thing but sometimes was it worth it?

No one would know the answer sadly.

Dreadtooth returned to his massive clan, he was certain that his daughter would be safe with Bloodmaw. Though he didn't fully trust him yet.

Trust was hard to keep, especially during the so many times he was backstabbed.

Bloodmaw had wisdom and strength, along with respect and common sense. Other leaders lack what Bloodmaw had. Probably cause they were inexperienced and cocky.

Dreadtooth was getting ready to face off against another large clan, for what though was the question? But he would need someone to marry his daughter and help him make this war a reality.

Both clans simply don't fight or start a war unless they were rivals. Enemies.

War was a big thing, not only would many die but one clan would be victorious while the other loses. However, it could happen for both of them to not lose and end up with a draw on their hands.

Anything was possible in this messed up world.

The world was large and had a large amount of untamed lands and with it new dangers that they haven't seen yet.

Dreadtooth has seen it since he was a youngster, he had seen the blind beasts kill for the sake of eating. They were like beasts from another world with large stomachs who would eat and eat. They'd keep eating.

It was hard for him to believe such a world like that exists. Furthermore, he couldn't believe he was one of them or those that follow him were once like them. Luckily, he didn't have to worry about that now. All that he should worry about was the upcoming war that was about to happen.

Dreadtooth knew that danger came in all shapes and sizes. If it was not a blind beast coming to end your life, it was another individual who was conscious and wanting more than what they had.

Who was more dangerous though? The blind or the conscious?

Dreadtooth walked through his clan with a confident stride, his gaze was fixed on the armor and weapons. Yes, weapons.

He had done something that no clan has ever done before and he was sure that Bloodmaw would have a few issues with it. Not that he cared much, after all Bloodmaw did not know about it.

Dreadtooth smirked at a hollow cave behind his clan, there was a boulder there of course but he had some blind beasts. Blind beast that he trained.

Blind beasts were dangerous until you know how to train them. How to use them.

He also took the time to breed them, breed them in hopes of creating mutations.

Mutations were a ugly thing to everyone who had a sense of thought, but to him mutations were wonderful. They were useful.

Dreadtooth had spent years watching the blind and how they work, and he knew that mutations were rare. But if you watched them and think, you could figure out the most complex of problems.

When he finally discovered how mutations worked was he elated.

He of course would never tell anyone how to make mutations, only cause it was his discovery it was his right!

Days would pass by and he would hear stories of clans doing great things. Now it was his turn!

Dreadtooth was aware of the world changing, better yet it was evolving. Why did he think this? Well, it was simple.

Many blind beasts would wake up from their animalistic ways, they would think and feel which was far from the truth impossible to have happen to them but here they were waking up.

Elders speak of why that was, well to him he felt like he knew better than those with knowledge. This was the start of a great future, a future with no blind beasts and actually living!

It was a race now, a race to the top.

Dreadtooth would be the first to stand above everyone else and lead this future. Of course he knew of the risks and dangers of what would be waiting for him.

He didn't care, he was certain he could overcome anything that would stand in his way. Those who would die in this war would be a mere small sacrifice.

They would be missed of course but the weak would have to die first as sadistic as that was.

Dreadtooth would use everything he had learned, and would use it. Use it until the end.

The snarling. The hissing. The animalistic. All these sounds came from behind the boulder he stood in front of. His trained weapons knew of his presence and they stopped their sounds.

Dreadtooth smirked, "Don't worry my beautiful weapons, you will have your chance to rid the world of the weak. Just be patient."

Dreadtooth was confident for obvious reasons, it was cause he knew how everything worked. He felt like life knew that, and that was why life was making it extra difficult for him to progress.

Life was scared of him.

That was definitely silly but he didn't show much of thought about it. After all he would win the race of this evolving world.

Dreadtooth looked down, he of course was upset about something. Two rexes with mutations escaped his grasp.

He tried to capture them, but they escaped.

Dreadtooth was furious about it but he felt like they would return. They were his children as crazy as that was, but who would expect that they would wake up and flee?

They were out there somewhere probably trying to run away from him. He knew of their names only cause he watched them from the shadows.

Both of them showed kindness to Jr, which was how he met Bloodmaw.

His plan was set right when Bloodmaw appeared.

Hannibal and Tyra, would return for Jr. Why? Cause they said they would.

Dreadtooth took the time to train his weapons, they were trained to fight and use their mutations to the best of their ability. Hannibal was a major success, and he was beyond glad to have him as a weapon.

Tyra would no doubt learn from Hannibal and the both of them would be a unstoppable force. If only they hadn't of woken up. But they did. They played smart, pretending to be blind still and they escaped.

With their mutations they were quite intelligent, and now he was watching the rest of his weapons closely.

He couldn't have the same thing repeat itself.

Dreadtooth smirked, he was sure that everything would work for him. He has survived so long and knew so much.

What was slightly upsetting was that his daughter showed interest in a one armed youngster. That was not who he was after, he wanted Jr.

Jr was the one that Hannibal and Tyra would return for, and if he was married to his daughter could he be able to capture them.

This war will not happen until after the wedding of his daughter, only cause he felt that was appropriate. The clan he would soon be facing against were still working to maintain their large size.

He could attack them now but that would be to easy, he knew he was going to win of course but he wanted a challenge.

Dreadtooth took notice of the sun slowly moving in the sky, he smirked in interest. Soon things would change, and as everything would change he to would become stronger. As Dreadtooth walks back into his clan he felt that he had nothing to worry about.

The rushing water was a normal sound for a certain spinosaurus. His pets stalked the waters in search of fresh prey.

Smaug had his injuries looked after, his eyes were still hard in appearance over a certain tyrant. He would no doubt kill that guy the next time they would meet.

His head lifted up to a sound, he looked over as he noticed a baryoynx who had just noticed him. He stared at them before approaching them, however they fled and out of curiosity he dashed after them.

Smaug came to a stop when he noticed that the baryoynx lowered themselves down in submission. They had a fair amount of armor upon them.

The baryoynx had a appealing blue over their eyes, they were slim in body structure in a dark blue and gray coloring.

"Please don't hurt me! I am looking for herbs!"

Smaug tilted his head, this baryoynx was a female. "Herbs for who?"

The baryoynx looked up at him, her eyes were the same color of blue as the blue over her eyes. "For my clan. I traveled very far only cause there is little herbs back home, and I am close to our enemies."

Smaug was silently staring down at her, from the looks of it she hadn't seen much food either. There was no way he was going to get a good fight out of her. "Come here."

Smaug walked toward the lake and he took a fish out of one of his pets claws. His pet made a loud scream in protest but it quickly went quiet after Smaug gave it a look.

The baryoynx cautiously walked over and she blinked in surprise as Smaug turned around to give her the fish. "I couldn't...!"

Smaug gave her a stern look and she flinched before slowly taking the fish out of his hands. "..." Smaug looked around before walking toward a few herbs he hadn't used.

His large claws picked the best ones out before turning around and walking back to the baryoynx. She hadn't took a bite out of the fish yet, she looked up and had a extremely shocked face as he handed her the herbs.

"W-why?", she asked confused.

Smaug gave her a stern look, "Cause, if you haven't noticed I can see you are struggling. Do you want me to just let you go the way you are?"

The baryoynx looked at him with wide eyes before she looked at the fish as she slowly took the herbs. "I just don't know what I can do in return..."

Smaug watched her calmly, somewhat content that she took the herbs. "Don't worry about it."

The baryoynx looked up at him before she gave him a smile, "I will repay you!" With that she scurried off to where he didn't know. She took the food and herbs which eased his being.

Smaug looked at his claws, before looking back up in the direction that she had ran off too. He could of very easily killed her, but she lowered herself in submission. She was skinny and didn't look well.

Her clan must be struggling, why else risk themselves getting close to enemy territory?

Smaug could care less about clans and such, so then why did he help her? He gave her a fish and a handful of herbs, that won't last long. She would no doubt be back.

Should he help her again or should he ignore her?

Smaug scoffed before looking at his pets, he even took away a fish from his pet for her. He must of felt bad for her to do such a thing. Usually he doesn't show interest in helping others, but she looked to be bad off.

How long had her clan suffered? Where do they live?

Smaug shook his head, he should stop thinking about it. If she returns he will deal with it.

The spinosaurus walked to the side and laid down, his armor was repaired after the last battle he had. Smaug glared remembering that tyrant, he was no king but a blind fool. Wherever he was he hoped he was going through the worst of times.

The stream he made his home was always a comfort for him, he didn't need much and he showed little to no interest in being in a clan for it was better to live alone with his two pets.

No rules were clearly better than rules.

Still he couldn't help but let his mind think about that baryoynx. Would she even be able to make her way back to her clan or would she die?

Smaug unawarely looked back in the direction where she had ran off too. How would she repay him if her clan was struggling?

So it would seem that Smaug helped a baryonyx. How will she repay him?

Hope you liked the chapter! It would seem that Smaug isn't so bad after all? What do you think? ^^
