The battle was set to happen and no one could stop it, Devastate looked at the two behemoths before him. Baldur smirked clearly not afraid of the outcome, he seemed confident in his skills. Crusher on the other hand stood tall and proud, the crown he wore was a symbol of his strength and intelligence.
Out of both giants, Baldur was the first to move. His claws were extended for they were ready for the battle. Crusher looked ready as he met him half way, a loud impact of muscle against muscle appeared. A large maw that belonged to Crusher sunk deep into the side of Baldur's throat.
A smirk plastered itself upon his maw as Baldur returned the favor. The sounds of flesh being punctured was a distinct sound. They all have heard it. Crusher let out a sound of obvious pain, while Baldur made none.
Lifting his clawed hands, Baldur took a hold of Crusher's mouth as he brought him down to the ground hard. The crown that was firmly upon Crusher's cranium had fallen to the ground. The rough jerking movements have been the cause for the crown to fall.
Crusher's already bloody maw raised up as he clearly fought back though he was on the ground. Grabbing a hold of Baldur's left hand did he refuse to let go. Baldur gave a light laugh with no hint of pain whatsoever. Crusher valiantly stood back up biting Baldur upon his throat after letting go of the hand he had, the leader of the clan strongly choked slammed him to the ground by using his powerful jaws.
The dirt was some what kicked up as they fought, the ground still moist from the rain. Devastate could only watch as these two fight, and so did everyone else who watched. No one wished to interfere with the battle that the two were having. This was a battle to decide who would be the next leader.
Baldur smirked standing up, his neck matched Crusher's for it was bleeding a lot. "That all you got?", scoffed Baldur who lunged forward. Crusher clicked his tongue in a quiet hiss as he lunged forward as well.
Baldur snapped his jaws onto Crusher's neck, Crusher crushed his jaws upon Baldur's. The blood that fell came from wounds seemed to grow in size with each bite. Baldur changed it up as he moved his mouth away as Crusher went to bite.
All in a instant, Baldur's unforgivable jaws snapped onto Crusher's head. His fangs sinking into the leaders skull, and his clawed hands placed themselves on either side of his mouth. Crusher roared in agony and rage, but that sound all of a sudden ceased as a loud snap occurred.
Baldur let go of the slowly going limp Crusher, the mighty leader tried to remain on his feet before gravity claimed his massive size. With a loud thud Crusher laid on the ground, his eyes slowly began to fade in color as life slowly drained from them.
Baldur smirked with his neck and arm badly bloody but he showed no pain. Everyone of the clan was stunned, the moment that some saw Crusher fall did they leave in a hurry. Devastate couldn't believe his eyes, Crusher was defeated!
The trail seemed to long for Scarface but he continued on, his face showed the concern that he had. The raptor followed at his heels before picking up on a scent. "Blood?"
Scarface blinked having now noticed the scent, as the forest began to fade he saw familiar figures in the distance. Sawtooth stood there like a statue. What had happened to make him freeze like that?
Scarface looked at the figures and his eyes grew wide, he saw Devastate but what shocked him was that Crusher was upon the floor not at all moving.
"No way...", spoke Scarface looking like he had lost something important. The leader was dead, and that only meant that the new leader was that rogue.
The raptor frowned sourly, "We should go."
The clan was pretty much done at this point, everything that they had done was over. Never had they thought that Crusher would fall in battle. Scarface slowly looked at the raptor and he looked back at the scene in front of him.
The changes that he would make would most likely destroy the very foundation that Crusher tried so hard to make. Crusher made sure that everyone worked together, even though they were different. Something deep down told him that it was going to change and in a drastic way.
Scarface slowly moved back into the heavy brush, the raptor quickly followed him. If they were to remain in the clan now run by a new leader, they would most likely die. Scarface looked back but winced forgetting his wound. This was very bad.
The raptor looked at him and said, "Come on, just a little further!"
Scarface looked at him and followed, he had to rely on the raptor for help. That was his only option.
Baldur smirked looking at the lifeless body of Crusher, he looked at Devastate and grinned with his mouth stained in blood. "Change has happened."
Devastate lowered his head, he showed respect for the new leader. "Yes, it has.", he replied.
Baldur smirked as he looked at the few clan members that still remained around. "I'm your new leader, I expect great things from you all."
The look he gave was a cold yet menacing one, "Only the worthy will remain in my ranks! Those who aren't are disposable!"
Devastate looked up with a blank expression, he looked down in silence.
Baldur looked at the crown and laughed as he stomped on it, "Who needs crowns!"
The future of the clan was uncertain, many who had fled knew this. Those who stay submissively gave into Baldur's strength and command only due to fear. Crusher was a behemoth many looked up to, he had strength but he didn't scare many into submission. Some merely followed Crusher for he had a different view on how things should be run, views that would benefit everyone.
What Baldur had in store, no one knew. He showed great strength and no remorse, and not showing any pain made many fearful of him. It was just not normal. If one could not feel pain, then how would you defeat something like that?
Scarface stopped near a stream, he collapsed onto the floor with a lost look in his eyes. The raptor slowly walked over and began applying the herbs to his wound. The pain was nauseating but he growled and endured it.
"I guess I can share my name with you now.", spoke the raptor who decided on talking to decease the tension between them.
Scarface looked at him curiously, though he winced as another wave of pain washed over him. "Really...? Now?", he huffed.
The raptor nodded as he said, "Gambit"
Scarface blinked a few times as he asked, "You gamble?"
Gambit nodded, "All the time, course that makes you greatly disliked by some.", he replied with a thoughtful look.
Scarface looked ahead as he let his name sink in, "I see..."
Gambit merely stood up and looked around before looking at Scarface, "I think it is safe to say we are on our own?"
Scarface frowned upon hearing those words, alone without a clan to face off against blind beasts. That was not pleasing in the slightest.
Gambit stared at Scarface before looking forward, "Unless you want to go back?"
Scarface snorted loudly, "No."
Gambit looked at the bushes, he then looked up as the rain began to slow to a complete stop. The sky above was getting darker as it became later in the day. "I guess we rest up and think about where to go later?"
Scarface shook his head as he moved to stand, this made Gambit blink fast. "We need to get further away from the clan."
Gambit looked down as Scarface slowly walked by him, "It will be dark soon. I don't feel like gambling a life, after what happened last time..."
Scarface looked back at him confused, "What?"
Gambit closed his eyes as he shook his head, "Nothing, if you really want to keep going then go ahead. I'm right behind you."
Scarface looked at him for a long moment before slowly walking ahead. Gambit watched him walk off and he sighed to himself before following.
Night was especially dangerous, only cause those who are blind are always on the prowl for their next meal. It was late in the evening now, the night wasn't to far behind. Scarface stopped as he picked up a familiar scent, it was one of the clan mates or so he assumed.
Scarface walked further and blinked seeing a baryonyx, the armor he had on was similar to the clan and he blinked before speaking, "Hey?"
The baryonyx blinked and turned around fast, his face had a teal coloring while the rest of his body was a mixed color of yellow and green. The armor he wore were upon his back and nape, with bone shoulder guards on each side of his neck. "...! Scarface?"
Scarface sort of smiled weakly as he nodded, Gambit appeared behind him and blinked seeing the baryonyx. "Swiftscale, what are you doing here?"
Swiftscale looked down as he spoke, "I ran away after what happened to Crusher."
Scarface frowned, he knew that Swiftscale admired Crusher's strength. To see such a valiant leader fall probably made many cower and flee. "I guess we are both run aways.", chuckled Scarface lightly. Gambit nodded to Swiftscale and was returned the gesture by the baryonyx.
"You can join us if you want?", asked Scarface.
Swiftscale looked at him and Gambit before he gave a smile, "Sure."
Scarface was glad to have another clan member with them, it just meant that they all could survive together. Swiftscale was a skilled yet fast swimmer, he had great strength as well. Scarface didn't really hold any kind of grudges against him. They always got along. Gambit didn't seem to mind but he did speak up, "Scarface is hurt, he won't listen to me to take a rest!"
Swiftscale looked at Scarface and then looked at Gambit, "You don't know him very well huh?"
Gambit blankly stared before saying, "Nope."
Scarface sort of laughed while Swiftscale grinned, "Take your time, you will figure him out eventually."
It was nice to exchange a light laughter with simple conversation, it made the approaching night seem less dangerous.
Scarface looked at the two of them before his thoughts strayed back to Devastate. What was going to happen to the rest of the clan? What kind of future did Baldur have in store for them. As far as he could tell, he was going to run the clan into the ground.
