"Can I casually call your name?" Belle asked me as her eyes pleaded. 

"I prefer if you do. Just like you, I'm a human and commoner, to be exact," I whispered into her ear, and she jumped out of happiness. She swung my hand up and down, catching some attention from others. 

I calmed Belle, and she apologized, flustered again. But this makes her look so simple-minded that I want to protect her. 

"Then how did you end up being the Demon Lord's partner for tonight?" Belle asked, looking very curious just by seeing her eyes sparkle. 

"That's…complicated," I answered her, which is entirely true. To add the secret, I'm hiding from them. It's a great crime.

"Then I won't ask any further," said Belle. "Since it's your privacy."

At least Belle is decent enough to know when to ask and not to. Her character seems so different that I want to make her my friend. That's if I'll see her again.
