And worse than that was the reality that was now in front of her. The brutal moment of facing the family member of the deceased.
Mustering up all the courage that Caroline possibly could, she walked toward the OT waiting area. No matter what, she had to act bravely in front of them. She couldn't afford to break now.
She signaled the nurse upon reaching there, and she guided her towards a woman and a child who were impatiently waiting outside.
Hearing her approaching footsteps, the woman immediately got up from her seat.
"What happened, doctor? Why no one is telling us anything? He is ok right?"
She lowered her head in front of her and stood there in silence for a moment.
"Why aren't you telling us, anything doctor? The operation theater light has been switched off for the last ten minutes, yet no one is saying anything. Why?"
