Around an hour has passed and we managed to convince Wang Da and picked him up along the way. As it Turns out, he has more than the 2 Gu we were shown in cannon. The bandages on his body looked a lot better IRL than in the manga as well!
He has a total of 4 Gu. 2 are the shadow follower and love life separation and the other two are rock skin Gu and warmth seeking lizard Gu. The lizard feeds on insects and the rock skin Gu eats rocks, so it is understandable why he chose them. The former are rank 2, while the later are rank 1 Gu worms.
He is basically good at scouting and hiding. A complete assassin style person, minus the rock skin Gu. "So, Wang Da, you willing to part with your rock skin Gu? I have a bronze skin Gu and we can trade them. Bronze skin Gu is more effective than rock skin Gu and its food is also rocks, so you won't be making a loss!"
He looked at me with a suspicious gaze and said "And why would you do that? Why would you exchange for something worse than what you already have?" I smirked at his question and said "The bronze skin Gu is directly better than the rock skin Gu, but I know how to combine a rock skin Gu and a bronze skin Gu into a rank 2 iron skin Gu, which has even more solid defense than a white jade skin Gu! I can easily buy a bronze rank Gu from any random chump in Gu Yue clan city, but a rock skin Gu is pretty rare here and I only know 2 other people who possess it and they won't sell it to me, as they also want iron skin Gu. I propose a mutually beneficial trade, as bronze skin Gu is better and needs the same kind of food as a rock skin one. But we can trade after the thousand beast King dies, because you can easily hide away, while I can only endure and kinda need a good defensive Gu right now."
The assassin nodded at me. The best way to earn someone's trust is speaking the whole truth and nothing but the truth! If I made up some kind of lie, he would have most likely seen through it and not cooperated. Thankfully I secured a rank 2 defense Gu this early on and established a corporative relationship with Wang Da.
An iron skin Gu worm has a higher primeval essence expenditure than a jade skin Gu worm, but what will that small expenditure increase do to a talent with 100% primeval essence!
Wang Da being added to our squad kinds messed with my previous plans, but now we have a better chance! I already have a really good plan and a few backup plans formed and, according to my calculations, we have a 70% success chance with minimal casualties! Thinking about how this is a thousand beast King we are talking about, that is saying something!
The first step is my role. I have the most primeval essence here, so my role is to tank the alpha boar(we all agree it's full name is a mouthful, so we calling it Alpha or A-boar now). My body's endurance is high enough to where I can take 1 or 2 hits directly from it and survive, so I will have to take an extra hit fir the team if the worst scenario comes.
Brother Wang is going to be a mobile turret and shoot arrows at the alpha boar's eyes, ears, neck and joints whenever he has the opportunity, but his main job is to make sure its children don't get in our way. Wang Da's job is also to eliminate the kids.
It's children are too abundant and they are guaranteed to get in the way, so Wang Da was assigned as crowd control. He will use love life separation to kill off the weak boars and allow us to fight the alpha boar.
My brother is the main attacker. The only weapon we have, that can pierce it's strong hide is his Guts, so he is the main attacker. My job is to make sure he can stay in battle for as long as possible and that the alpha boar doesn't run away when it gets wounded.
This is a pretty decent plan, if I do say so my self. I hope it can be executed as well as I think and we won't have to resort to the backups. They aren't that risky, but... You guys will know what I mean if it comes to it. We approached the alpha boar's den and all quickly got into position.
"Let's go, brother!" He nodded at me and said "I'm heading out" and went to my right. It amazes me how he can be quiet and sneaky with Guts on his back.
I quickly walked forward and arrived in front of A-boar's face. He was sleeping and I directly punched him in his snout with all of my strength.
It let out a loud squeal and lightning shot off of it's body. "So, the Lightning Gu is indeed lightning cover Gu! Just as I thought! It was a good idea to give Jack those rubber gloves!"
The reconnaissance we did last time was accurate and now I am even more sure of our success!
We can also conclude it has no scouting Gu. If it did, I wouldn't be able to sneak up on it so easily and punch it in its nose. The boar also lacks higher brain function, so it became directly enraged and charged at me.
I activated my spring weed Gu and jumped to the right, dodging it with enough space to spare. The enraged pig crashed into a tree and the tree completely toppled over. It's raging eyes only saw red as it turned around and charged at me with it's tusks now coated in something that looked like steel. It was quite possibly another Gu worm. Doesn't matter, I am not going to be pierced by that and neither am I going to try destroying it!
I unleashed my killing intent and directly challenged it to a battle of strength. I stood my ground, legs wide apart and firmly glued to the ground, arms outstretched and ready to catch his tusks mid-charge.
A-boar most likely understood my intention and was enraged even more. Imagine if your broccoli challenged you to an arm wrestling match. This was a similar situation to that for A-boar!
A-boar charged at me, it looked like a runaway train with all the carbon dioxide coming out of it's nose and the fast movement. I activated my bronze skin Gu and retracted my arms.
Bang!
My arms rushed forward and my palms directly impacted on A-boar's tusks and grabbed onto them! I clutched my hands around the huge tusks tips and my bronze skin Gu barely protected the skin on my arms from being torn to shred from the rough treatment I was given.
A-boar wasn't satisfied with that and kept charging. My feet dug through the dirt, as I was pushed back and left two very deep and straight lines.
"Now!" I screamed at the top of my lungs and my brother quickly rushed towards A-boar. He saw my brother's sword, felt the killing intent on him and got scared. "Trying to run away now! Fat chance you piece of meat!" I kept my strong grip on it's tusks and pushed it down before it could retaliate and "Chweeeeekkk!"
It squealed in pain as a massive, 40 centimeters long, 5 centimeters deep wound appeared on its left side. It started wildly thrashing around it's head, attempting to shake me off.
My job was mostly done. My primeval essence went from a full 55% black green to 15% black green. My muscles were also extremely tired and probably hella torn. My breathing became ragged and unsteady as well, but I succeed! I fought a fucking giant boar and came out on top with my own strength!
The white boar strength Gu played no part in this, as I didn't ever use it on my self. This was entirely my strength, the result of my hard-work! I laughed as I flew through the air, landed and stood back up. "Mom is gonna kill us!"
My brother laughed and retreated back to where he came from. A-boar was too busy screaming to notice the tiny metal thingy flying towards it before it was too late and "Chweeeek! Chweek!"
It kept squealing as its left eye was destroyed by brother Wang's metal arrow. "Okey, that is enough! If we shoot out both of it's eyes, it will become too wild and unfocused to fight! Wang brothers, focus on keeping the children away by any means necessary! Us Kai brothers will focus on taking down A-boar!"
The boar was bleeding a lot, but the next thing that happened was what I was the most worried about. "IT HAS A HEALING GU!"
A-boar's massive wound suddenly began shining jade-green and began mending itself. The arrow stuck in it's eye prevented the eye from healing, but the wound I risked my life for was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye. I couldn't allow that to happen, so I quickly got up and rushed towards it. "Plan C! Forget the ambush tactic and go full offensive!"
"The Hell do you think I am doing on it's left side if not plan C?" I nodded at my brother and jumped onto A-boar. I grabbed onto the extremely burly hide on the top of its back and vaulted over it. My feet touched the ground and I pulled with all my might. "Chwik, chwick, chweeek!"
It kept squealing in pain and tried to lift me up. "Oh fuck!" Turns out I miscalculated exactly how tired I am and am now riding this damn pig's back as it is thrashing around wildly. My brother screamed at me "The fuck you doing riding it's back! Get down here or it will knock you off and trample you!"
My eyes lit up as an idea came to me. "Jack, screw C, operation centrifugal javelin! Aim for that tree over there. Delay will be 15-17 seconds!" Jack nodded his head as he understood which tree I meant without even needing me to point towards it.
I slid down A-boar's giant back and clutched onto the hair on its neck as it "yaaaaaahhhh!!!" finally realized it can electrocute me and I screamed in pain. Jokes on him! My muscles are now forced-shut on his hide, so I am not going anywhere even if I wanted to!
I was kinda hoping this wouldn't happen. At least now you guys understand why I didn't like the backup plans! This idea would hurt like hell, but it was also within my calculations, that is the main reason I didn't activate bronze skin Gu to counter his thunder cover Gu.
Even if my hands are electrocuted and can't more, I can still pull on the boar's hide and influence it's movement direction with my body. The 13 seconds I was being electrocuted hurt like a bitch! But it is finally coming to an end! Wang Da appeared out of the tree's shadow and scared A-boar into slowing down and.
Slice!
The gigantic sword(Guts) my brother had been spinning around left his hands and directly cut through the middle of A-Boar's left side and came out of it's right side, impaling A-boar onto the thick tree I hinted at.
A-boar couldn't move anymore because of the giant sword in its body. Its final squeals began screaming out as it flailed wildly. It is now stuck in the air, slowly dying of blood loss.
Of course I wouldn't let it just squeal around for fun! It would be idiotic to give your opponent a chance at a comeback, so operation centrifugal javelin continued.
Wand Da quickly vanished and jack rushed towards me. We grabbed the handles of the sword and I got electrocuted hard! My brother had rubber gloves, so it was kinda negated and I used my bronze skin Gu and the remaining primeval essence in my aperture to defend against the attack.
Even if we were being electrocuted, we still held onto Guts's handle and managed to turn it. The boar kept squealing and shocking us as we clamped the sword down on his back side and it finally breathed it's last breath. The giant sword came out of the tree trunk, as Chun Jack and I swung it so hard it cut through A-boar's backside and left a giant cut mark in there.
A-boar is now, with 100% certainty, dead and all of its Gu worms and loot belongs to us!
I decided to not keep this on a cliffhanger and release the chapter as early as possible. The chapter after this, number 15, has probably the funniest line I have written in all of my life!
Enjoy the new and smaller cliff. It is a lot more comfortable to hang off of than the previous one.
