-->To become a world-class set-piece taker, one needs to have a high conversion rate. That's why players like Juninho, Beckham, Pirlo, and Messi are deemed as some of the best free-kick takers ever. On the other hand, players like Ronaldo, who lack consistency and have low conversion rates, are usually termed as overrated. The statistics are clear when you look at them.
-->Additionally, a good dead-ball specialist needs to remain composed in every sort of situation on the field. You can have the best technique in the world, but if you can't convert at important moments, like during a final, then your skills are worthless. This is one of the reasons why Becks and Messi are phenomenal players. When you give them a free-kick, they'll perform, as usual, no matter the situation.
