章節 3: Gathering Potential
After looking at everything Alexios was surprised, delighted, and confused. He wasn't sure how this world would be and he wasn't sure what some of the perks and abilities were as they gave no explanation. He tried to focus on some of the perks that confused him the most.
Child of the Wolf: Descendant of the First Men and strong blood ties with the North. Stronger body and stronger magical ties with the old magic.
Draconic Blood: Blood of the dragons from old run through your veins, stronger magical ties with Valyrian magic.
He wasn't sure what the First Men, the North and Valyrian's were but it seemed like it was something good. After finishing looking over that and thinking of the possibilities he heard the door open as a man walked in with black hair, and a tall fit build. He wore a smile as he kneeled next to the woman holding Alexios and laughed as he spoke. Alexios was confused since he couldn't understand the language, he felt like he might've made a blunder but figured he could always learn it. Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months as Alexios slowly grew.
He learned fairly quickly the language of these people he called parents. His father Garth Dragen and his mother, a woman who was passing through the lands that his father owned. She went by the name Daena but said she had no last name worth mentioning. She was a beautiful woman who caught my father's eye early on and her light colored hair and deep blue eyes with a touch of purple entranced him further. The result was Alexios Snow.
Now though I am the bastard of his known as Alexios Snow. I couldn't stay with my mother as she said she was on a dangerous road and would be leaving shortly after my birth so I stayed with garth. I could only train my magical capacity and help grow my body through it. I spent two years doing this with the occasional lesson from the maester, the scholars of this world. I learned many things about this land known to many as the north in the seven kings all held by the iron throne and the Targaryen's.
Shortly after my second year, my father was called up to raise arms by the starks, paramount's in the north and overall, our liege lord. My father upheld his oath and rode out with his men to accompany the starks. I couldn't really do anything but the thought of them losing weighed heavily upon me as it would mean my life could turn very terrible very fast. I learned that my father's wife couldn't conceive due to some past injury though it didn't stop them from trying. So she treated me as her own even with the envy in her eyes.
I was legitimized by my father after he came back victorious from his long absence due to the war. I suppose having me as the only child with my growing potential gained his favor. I also gained a lot of training from all the lessons I started taking, ordered from my "mother". I didn't complain but it was difficult to stay focused on it when I had no time to myself everyday. Every day passed by with no word till a boy with long straight black hair could be seen running as fast as his little legs could carry him to the battlements to see the approaching soldiers who displayed the Dragen banner.
Alexios was relieved knowing now that his way of life is secured and safe till he is strong enough to influence it himself. He rushed down to the gate to greet his father. Once Garth saw the little figure running up just past the open gate, he was surprised at first but then realized who it was getting off his horse. Afterwards he picked up Alexios and got back onto his horse with Alexios in his lap. They rode through the gate and went to the courtyard where Garth's wife was waiting for him and was slightly annoyed when seeing Alexios not with his tutor.
Alexios seeing his mother had a cold sweat forming and started to look away. While Garth was all smiles towards his wife and vice versa, the same couldn't be said between Alexios and his mother. It was awkward to say the least. Garth realizing the tension in the air took his wife inside while making some time for little Alexios to escape while laughing all the way before telling his wife about the matters following the war. Alexios began training under his father with the use of the spear, axe, sword and with horsemanship.
Of course his regular lessons did not last. Now Alexios at least was too tired to complain while his mother started to worry seeing the bruises and cuts start to gather on him throughout the days. However the days did get easier with time even if slowly. At the age of six, he was already 4"8, a height that was intimidating towards his other peers. Alexios entered the dining hall for breakfast with his father and mother but it was quiet, eerily quiet while they ate.
Garth spoke up, "Alexios, tonight you will take a boat to Essos and get training in every type of fighting you deem worthy. I will be sending at least a hundred men with you not including the crew for the ship. You will learn and adapt and by the time you return, I expect you to be the best fighter and trained man in all the seven kingdoms with your lessons everyday while you're away. Lord Stark has agreed to sponsor you to an extent for our future fealty to their causes. There's talk of possibly further strengthening our ties with them in due time."
At those words, Alexios coughed while choking on some water he was drinking before almost spitting it out but holding back due to respect. "Father, how long will I be away?" Alexios did not know much about the Stark's other than his father talking about them like they were Titans. than his father speaking of them as if they were Titan's among men. "At the earliest date, possibly by the time you are ten, latest I presume you to be six teen and no later."
Garth said while cutting his slab of meat that lay on his plate. Alexios thinking of what is to come resolved his mind and nodded to his father before excusing himself to prepare. He went and packed everything he might need while making sure to run over his known spells once more. Alexios was nervous at the prospect of 'strengthening ties' as he could guess how that would work. 'Inspect' Alexios voiced out in his mind.

After seeing his new updated self, He felt both happy and disappointed. He should've been better by now but he only improved a little with his physical self even when reinforcing his body through magic. He then wondered how strong was compared to others. He went and looked at a boy helping his father by their shop and checked him.

Alexios was shocked to say the least, One being how much better he was than someone slightly older. Second was how this person was turning out to be. He walked up to the child and his father at the shop. "Excuse me, by any chance, would you want to be trained in the ways of a warrior and serve House Dragen?" Alexios spoke clearly, slowly, and made sure to let his words sink in.
The older man kneeled to the ground before Alexios, "Thank you young lord but we do not deserve your hospitality. We have always been merchants for generations." Alexios stood firm and spoke directly to the man. " Your son is wasting his talents. If he was able to train, I have no doubt he would grow into a fine warrior, one House Dragen would be honored to have."
Like that Alexios and the man discussed what was to happen while the boy was in a daze at the situation never believing he would be able to become a warrior. That night, four boys and two girls ranging in ages five to seven walked towards the port where they met Garth Dragen who had a surprised look. "Why bring along young children Alexios?" "I wish to have them trained alongside me, I find potential within them and so I wish to help them bring it out." Garth was skeptical about it but if it was true then this would pay off a thousand times over with loyal servants. The group of children boarded the ship and set sail for Essos.
