The news of Lukas and Nadia's engagement broke off on the same day and immediately spread like wildfire among the nobility. Many were surprised, but most of them had already expected it. They were the ones who had indulged in the rumors that they were together, so the engagement makes sense and they immediately became the power couple that made most envious.

Some ladies who were pining for the duke were heartbroken, and the unmarried men regretted and felt unacceptable. 

One example was Eon. After hearing the news, he ran to Nathan sadly and challenged him to a duel again.

Whenever he was sad and jealous, he would always challenge Nathan to a sword fight and never win, which just made him more depressed.
