章節 5: The Devil Spawn is Lazy
The chef hearing the commotion ran out and was shocked, "Oh no... Hagatha! You know what this is right!?"
"Yes. I call her." When the principal picked up the phone she began "Ms. Principal. The children... Lunch lady's nightmare... Food everywhere... It's... It's a... FOOD FIGHT!!!!"
The small food fight between friends had expanded and now everyone in the cafeteria was throwing food. But before everyone joined in someone had already recorded Kellian's group starting the fight.
"Babe throw this cake at me." It was the Barbie ripoff girl from math class.
"What? Why?" Ein was confused.
"You'll see." She smiled evilly.
Ein took the slice of cake and threw it at her face. She wiped some icing off her eyes , "I said throw it at me! Not at my face!" She scolded.
"...Sorry."
"It's fine. I should have been more specific." The same evil smile appeared on her face again, "I'll be back soon."
'My girlfriend is up to something. Kellian... She deserves this right? She abandoned me first so I shouldn't still care about her. Plus she's hanging around THEM. So she definitely deserves this!! Why do I even care!? I have to focus on... Sarah?... Samantha?... Sally?... Sandy?... What's her name again?'
"It looks like Heather has a plan. I can't wait to see those cocky bastards punished!" Someone from Ein's group exclaimed.
'Heather! Heather is my girlfriend I shouldn't be thinking about other girls.'
Meanwhile in the corridor that led to the Cafeteria Heather ran into the dean of discipline that was heading to the cafeteria.
"Darling what happened?"
"Mrs. Dean. There was a food fight and... those awful kids did this to me!" Heather was crying as she showed the Dean of Discipline the video.
The loud *clicks* of heels were heard as the dean stomped her way to the cafeteria.
To make matters worse someone threw a burger at her which luckily missed. She cleared her throat attracting everyone's attention.
"Who started the fight?"
No one would dare try and get the alpha in trouble so the students all went quiet. The lunch lady, however, was still upset and pointed at their table.
"Girl with blue hair."
"I see." The dean stomped her way over and slammed her hand on the table. "Who do you think you are disrupting the peace!?"
"What?"
"Do you want to be expelled!? Don't give me that innocent act!"
She grabbed Kellian's wrist and harshly pulled her out of her seat.
Ryder grabbed onto the Dean's wrist firmly almost crushing the bone.
The dean froze. She never expected Ryder Rhodes the alpha and son of Mr. Tyler Rhodes, a major sponsor for the school to be involved with a delinquent.
"This blue-haired girl started the food fight and needs to go to madam principal's office."
"No."
"No? You are the alpha. Everyone looks up to you. So you should be a good example. Don't get involved with delinquents like her." The dean scolded.
"Delinquent? Because she started the food fight?" He replied impassively but there was a hint of sinisterness hidden in the mix which sent shivers up the Dean's spine.
"Yes. Exactly." She replied firmly not wanting him to realize she was actually intimidated by him. But he was holding her wrist and could feel her hand trembling.
"I started the fight." He let go of her wrist when she let go of Kellian's. He looked her dead in the eye with a smirk on his face.
"W-what?" She instinctively backed away.
"I. Started. The. Food. Fight." Ryder repeated slowly making sure to annunciate every syllable. His clear blue eyes looked as if they were seeing through her facade. It was as if he could see exactly how scared she was and was toying with her.
"Excuse me for a minute." She said nervously make a hasty retreat for the exist. As soon as she was outside she called the principal.
"Madam principal. Ryder claims to have started the fight is not letting me punish the accused girl."
"Sigh. Does anyone have proof?"
"The lunch lady claims to have seen and a student has a video."
"Damn. We have to punish them then. We can't let the public think we let the students do as they please. But we can't upset Ryder either. Sigh. Just tell them to clean the cafeteria. Make sure no one else hears."
"Understood.I will inform them."
"As punishment you four will clean this cafeteria after school." She said in her most quiet voice.
"Kay," Ryder replied going back on his phone.
As soon as the dean got back to her office she collapsed to her knees.
'How can one child be that intimidating! I almost lost my composure. He's almost more terrifying than his father. Those eyes and that voice were so cold and so harsh it seemed like I was nothing but a bug under his gaze. And his strength! I can see why he became the alpha."
"I see he broke your spirit too." The principal walked into the room.
"Huh?"
"I was there the first time he fought seriously. It was... a terrifying yet beautiful sight. Too bad it only happens when he's at the peak of anger. So I don't think I'll ever witness it again." The principal sighed. "I'll allow you to take a break. Also, go see the nurse your wrist is bruised."
"I'm sorry... for being so weak."
"That's why you have Martin. All you have to do is pretend to be strong to scare the students and stay away from Ryder. Martin will handle the rest. You've been a great Dean of discipline even though you're an ordinary wolf."
"Thank you. Madam principal."
"You don't have to thank me. I have never regretted giving you this job, sister." The principal reassured her sister, the dean of discipline.
"Why do you want Amanda to marry him so bad?" The dean asked.
"Because his father will probably become the leader of the wolf kingdom and when he passes who do you think will take over?"
"But he's so terrifying don't you think you're asking too much of Amanda."
"She's the one who suggested it."
"He almost broke my wrist because I was holding onto that new girls wrist. I don't think he cares about Amanda that much."
"He what!? I'll have to look into this new girl. If she's better than Amanda we'll have to do something about her. Just keep an eye on her if she slips up we can expel her. However sis, don't get involved with them too much."
Back in the cafeteria. Ryder was outside making a call.
'I knew being friends with them was going to cause trouble.' Kellian sighed then asked, "How exactly are we supposed to clean this up?"
"First we need supplies. You want to get them Dex?"
Dexter nodded then left.
"Okay."
"Who's going to clean what?" Just ast she finished her question she slipped on a spilt milkshake puddle.
She was sure there was no hope, she was going to hit the cold, hard, dirty, food covered floor. So she just braced for impact. Impact that never happened, mind you. Because just as she was about to hit the floor she was caught.
Leo had caught her. Now staring into her silver eyes with is emerald ones he froze. There the familiar feeling he usually gets mixed with something new. Without thinking he dropped her.
"Oh no! I'm so sorry I didn't mean to drop you it's just that I—"
Ryder asked casually leaning against a table that was clean, "Aren't you supposed to be cleaning?"
"Yes but–"
"It doesn't look like you too were cleaning." Ryder said in a mocking tone.
"She fell and I–"
"Nevermind, I don't care. By the way. I'm only here to watch. I don't clean."
'Oh. So now the devil spawn is lazy. Is there any redeeming quality aside from his looks?'
"Again I'm sorry for dropping you." Leo apologized again but this time he was three feet away and was maintaining that distance when ever she moved.
'Is he avoiding me?'
Dexter came back with three boxes of supplies.
Kellian was assigned the job of cleaning the table tops because Ryder said and I quote, "We wouldn't want the blueberry slipping again. She might become bruised and nobody wants to eat a bruised blueberry."
"Stupid, lazy devil spawn." Kellian complained under her breath.
"Did you say something, Blueberry?" Ryder asked after hearing everything she just said.
"No— Actually yes, yes I did!"
"Why you little–"
Kellian interrupted Ryder by throwing a wet towel at him. He took the towel off his face but his expression calm. Too calm. Almost as if he didn't care.
Leo laughed, "You might want to run Kelly. The calmer he looks the angrier he is."
Kellian decided to take up his advice after seeing Ryder's aloof face become even more indifferent.
She quickly attached two sponges to her feet while Ryder watched confused.
Then she began skating. She looked like an ice skater gracefully skating across the ice. Except the ice was normal concrete and the ice skates were sponges. She was having fun and the floor was getting cleaned. Ryder on the other hand was absolutely dumbfounded.
'What a strange girl. Are all humans this strange?' Ryder asked himself questioning the sanity of the girl before him.
