Days passed and Marcus seemed to be getting more and more worse as he called for his children. The door opened revealing his daughter, Cora, as she immediately teared up at the sight of her father.
"Daddy?" She cried, rushing to his side as he smiled at the sight of her, "Hey, baby girl, I've missed you," he said as Cora held his hand with tears streaming down her face, "What's happening to you, Daddy?" She asked as Marcus reached out to caress her face.
"I'm afraid that my time is near," he said as Cora began sobbing, squeezing her father's hand in desperation, "No, you can't leave me, y-you're the Alpha, you'll heal and everything will be alright," she cried as her father cooed, "I'm afraid that's not it works Cora, but know that'll always love you," he said as his words, his defeating attitude angered her as she snatched her hand from his as she stood up.
"IT'S NOT FAIR! YOU'RE GOING TO DIE AND LEAVE, AND YOU'RE OKAY WITH IT!!" She yelled as tears continuously streamed down her face. Marcus watched his daughter in silence. He knew that his words would only anger her more, so he stayed silent.
Marcus's lack of response, made Cora even more furious as she roughly wiped her tears before scoffing with a dark look in her eyes, "Fine, lay there and die, we were all waiting for this moment, all you did was break and destroy the people in your life, because of you, I'm just some broken psychotic brat who was taught that the greatest love is when daddy's dick is deep inside of me, because of you, Mateo was robbed of his motherly love and is now a power-hungry lunatic that is killing his father," she said as Marcus turned pale white.
"Yeah, I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree," she said with a dark grin on her face as she slowly walked towards him, "C-Cora, listen to me, baby girl, you have to stop your brother, it isn't too late for me to heal and then w-we can get rid of anyone in our way and you can be luna," Marcus terrifying stutter as he watched his daughter stop at the side of his bed before her face lit up.
"Really daddy?" She asked, climbing onto his lap as he sighed in relief before nodding with a smile on his face, "I promise, sweetheart," he said before his door opened, revealing Mateo, who came in with his hands behind his back and a blank expression on his face.
"Hello father, it's time for your medicine," he said as Marcus glanced at his daughter, who stared innocently at him, "Cora?" He called as she tilted her head with a frown on her face and a pout on her lips, "I'm sorry daddy, but Teo is right, you have to take your medicine," she said before yanking the pillow from beneath his head as his eyes widened when he saw Mateo removed his hands from behind his back to reveal a 6 inch needle attached to a syringe filled with a light yellow liquid, "Mateo, son, don't do this," Marcus pleaded as Mateo frowned, "But I promised you, I promised that I'll take good care of you, and I never, never, break a promise," Mateo gritted before Cora began smothering him with the pillow as he immediately began to struggle.
"Say hello to grandfather for me," he said before plunging the needle into his chest, right above his heart before inserting the liquid causing Marcus's struggling body to slowly weaken and stop as he was now pronounced dead.
And Mateo became the new Alpha.

"Can I ask you guys a question?" Rosalie asked as she and the twins sat on a cliff watching the ocean as she sat between Giovanni's legs and Genesis lay between hers.
"You can ask us anything," Giovanni said while peppering her neck with kisses as she closed her eyes, "If things get too difficult here in Queensland and you had a choice to leave or stay, what would you do?" She asked, stopping Giovanni's action as he pulled away from her, "I don't know to be honest," Genesis said before sighing heavily.
"I'd probably leave," Giovanni replied as they both turned to look at him, "You would, why?" Rosalie asked as he shrugged, "Queensland may be my home, but living here has brought me so many heartache, I know nothing about my mom besides what I've heard about her, my father was killed in front of me, I've lost family and was betrayed by friends, I've been taken advantage of, look down on, judged, I don't know, sometimes I feel the need to move away, far away to someplace where I could start over," he said, avoiding their gaze as he felt embarrassed.
Rosalie smiled softly as she reached back to pull his chin down and kissed his lips softly, "There's no need to feel embarrassed, I get it," she said as he smiled before Genesis's sigh grabbed their attention, "What's on your mind?" Rosalie asked, running her hand through his hair, "Maybe if I was leaving with you at my side then yes, I'd probably leave," he said as Rosalie's smile widened.
"I heard Eastern Siberian Taiga in Russia contains the largest expanse of untouched boreal forest in the world," Rosalie said as the two brothers smiled before Giovanni howled excitedly followed by his brother as Rosalie laughed at them.
The three mates expressed true happiness and although they knew that the events ahead would change their lives forever, they were grateful to have each other's back before the storm hits.
But what if all storms aren't meant to disrupt your life, what if some come to clear a path that you can't see.

"Is it true?" Paul asked as he entered his grandfather's house to find him in the living room sipping on a cup of tea, "Is what true son?" Atticus asked as Cleo entered the room, eyeing her brother nervously, "Is it true that Marcus is dead?" He asked as Atticus set his cup down before sighing, "So I've heard," Atticus replied as Paul frowned, "So what happens now, Mateo is going to be Alpha?" He asked as Atticus looked at his grandson, "That's how it works, if Marcus dies then the title of Alpha goes to his oldest heir, which is Mateo," he said as Paul scoffed, "Is this really happening, he's just like his father or even worse," he said causing a frown to appear on his sister's face.
"He's not that bad, Paul, maybe we should give him a chan-
"Are you stupid? Give him a chance, what rock have you been living under, they're terrible people, they shouldn't be our leaders and protectors," he said his words angered Cleo as she snapped, "Then who do you suggest be Alpha, the twins?" She asked as he remained silent, "Why should they be Alpha, they don't care about anyone but themselves and Rosalie, who doesn't even belong here and with them," she said as Paul squinted his eyes, "What's your problem? You sound a bit jealous sister?" He asked as Cleo's eyes widened before she scoffed, "Jealous? Me? Of who that bitch-
"Cleo?" Atticus scolded as Cleo's eyes widened before she immediately apologize, which widened Paul's smile, "Of any good-looking woman who's able to capture a man's attention," Paul said as his sister grew flushed while Atticus glared at his grandson, "Did you come here to belittle your sister, Paul, or is there a reason, you've been spending a lot of time with Benjamin and his family, why have you come?" He asked as Paul clenched his jaw, "Belittle? Please grandfather, you've done far worse, but I'm here to tell you that if a war happens, I've already chosen my side," he said as Cleo stomped towards him.
"You're siding with the enemy?" She gritted as Paul laughed before moving closer to her face, "You mean the enemy that's breathing in your face?" He asked as her eyes momentarily widened, "You don't know what you're talking about," she said, "I bet I don't, but if you think that you'll be luna just Mateo whispered in your ear, then you have a rude awakening," he said before glancing at his grandfather, who wore a blank expression before Paul turned around and left.
Cleo turned to her grandfather with a panicked look on her face, "What are we going to do, he knows that we have taken part in Marcus's death," she said as Atticus glared at her, "Shut up, you pathetic fool, if he knows it's probably because of you, you couldn't just keep your mouth shut," he spat as Cleo flinched, tears welling up in her eyes, "I-
"Just get out of my sight, I need to call Mateo," he said as Cleo's eyes lit up, "Can I talk to hi-
"What for? Your job was to deliver the soup to Marcus and that job ended with Marcus's life along with that imaginary relationship you think you have with Mateo," he said as Cleo's face went pale and tears rolled down her cheeks. She felt her heart shatter at her grandfather's words. Mateo had used her and now she was an associate of Marcus's murder. She felt sick to her stomach and instantly regretted not listening to her brother, who she may never see or speak to again as her last words to him were in defense of a cruel man, who didn't care about her. She had no one now and she felt like it was all her fault. Guilt began to eat away at her at a rapid pace as she ran out of the room and out of the house.
And that may have been the last time anyone ever saw Cleo.
…
After Paul left his grandfather's house, on his way to Benjamin's, he ran into Mateo, who stared at him with a smirk on his face, "Paul, how are you?" He greeted as Paul stared at him, "Tough crowd, I was just on my way to your grandfather's house, you might've heard the news about my father's passing," he said as Paul chuckled, "You mean your father's murder?" He asked as Mateo's smirk dropped, "My father died, he wasn't murdered," he said as Paul smirked before his face went blank, "Honestly, I don't care if you killed the bastard or not, but if you were involved my sister in this and anything happens to her, I'm playing tit for tat," he said as Mateo glared at him before chuckling.
"And here I thought you were making threats to kill me," he said, pretending to breathe in relief wiping his forehead before shrugging, "Oh no, you're someone's fish and they're dying to kill you," he said as Mateo smiled, "Indeed they will be dying," he said as his eyes darken before he left Paul with an unsettling feeling in his chest.
…
"What do you mean Marcus is dead?" Giovanni asked as everyone stared at Paul in disbelief, "He's dead, they don't know how but Mateo announced it, and now he's the new Alpha," he replied as Rosalie's face went pale before she looked at her grandfather, who shook his head, "What else is it, Paul, you look conflicted?" Melody asked as everyone looked at him, "I think my sister and grandfather may have been involved with it as well," he replied as his words angered Rosalie, who shot Melody a knowing look.
"I knew it, I knew she couldn't be trusted, for all we know, she could've been sent by Mateo to spy on us, I can't believe this," she said, shaking her head as her grandfather turned to her, "This was all apart of his plan," he said as Paul frowned, "What do you mean?" He asked as Benjamin sighed, "If you think that your grandfather and sister were involved in the killing of Marcus then they were simply puppets on Mateo's strings," he replied as everyone listened to him, "People are going to start asking questions and eventually those questions are going to be answered," he said as Paul's face went pale.
"What do you think he's going to tell them."
