In the midst of her thoughts, she felt an arm wrapped around her shoulder. "She's going to be fine." It was Jon, his eyes had turned red with tears which he tried to keep from falling, he stretched his right arm to her right shoulder and held her left hand with his. He almost hugged her, making her feel secure. She lifted her head and looked at him to her left, their eyes met and Jon removed his right hand from her right shoulder, using it to wipe the tears that fell from her eyes. "I do not know sir," she said softly, trying to pull back the tears. Jon replied in an instant, "How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me sir when we're not at work?" He was trying to make the mood a bit lighter, while keeping his calm. Cathy finally managed to smile, and as she did, a doctor meets them. Jon removed his hands from her, facing the doctor who just came out from the emergency room. Cathy stood up, " How is she?" she asked. "Jennifer had suffered some head injuries, she had been hit with something heavy, which made her lose consciousness. You may need to coordinate with the police." Before Cathy could speak again, Jon interrupted, "I see, thank you doctor. Please make sure everything is done for her'' he paused and grabbed his wallet from his pocket on the left arm side of the suit, "Here is my card, please call me for anything." The doctor seemed amazed. "Mr. Albertson, we will do whatever needs to be done to help her." he shook his hand and then turned to Cathy. "Your mother will soon be all right, dear." "Thank you," she replied, and the doctor excused himself. Jon went back to his seat and looked at Cathy. He then started a conversation with her. "Catie," he called her. She turned to him and sat beside him. "Thank you for taking my mom here, and for accompanying me. You can go now." He shrugged and laughed, "Catie, I am the person in charge for your safety." She felt a bit shy towards him, "This is too much. Jon, you can go." "Why are you pushing me away? I wanted you both to be safe." His mood suddenly changed this time, "I lost my mom, ten years ago. I don't want to see anyone lose a mother." Cathy looked at him, "I'm sorry." Jon held her hand, "It's all right, Catie. We lost her because of a break in. She had been attacked." Jon remembered how his mother was attacked by unknown people, leaving her lifeless on the floor, soaking in her own blood. "Did you think the same thing would happen to my mom?" Cathy looked at him in the eyes, and before he could speak again, Lee came in to interrupt. "Hey Lee," Jon greeted him. "Hello young lady," he greeted Cathy. She smiled back, and Lee continued, "Our team has come across some footage of security cameras around the vicinity of the St. Vincent, and we have found something." He then hands over an envelope to Jon, which he immediately opened. He pulled out photos, which are of the particular street in St. Vincent where the Mills live." That's our place!“ Cathy exclaimed, surprised at what she saw. There were several photos of a man in different parts of the place, for a few days prior to the attack." However, " Lee said, "We had not found a record of today's. Seems like all the security cameras were shut during the attack on Mrs. Mills." "That's weird," Jon said. "There must be something to it. Have you sent security?" Lee nodded, "Yes, we have sent men to check the vicinity every now and then, especially the Noughton's. We also have a few making rounds here." Jon smiled, "That's good," he said. "Please take care of everything for me, Lee." He nodded, faced Cathy, and he told her, "Our team will do what we can to make sure that whoever did this to your mother will be dealt with accordingly." Cathy thanked him, as Jon walked with Lee and some of his assistants to the exit.
