Navi, I have no clue what's going on so, please enlighten me.
<First of all, thank you, if I hadn't detected the abnormalities happening through you and warned Darwin in time things would be a whole lot more difficult for us to handle.>
What now?
<To put it simply, the man directly opposite Darwin is lord winter, the current head of house winter and the only sub-zero mage alive. His class gives him the ability to partially freeze time. He did so and attempted to infiltrate the building and kidnap Valeria.>
He can freeze time? That's way too overpowered!
<He can do so only partially. In other words, he freezes time for a limited area. Since Valeria was shutting me out we wouldn't have noticed but when your train of thought suddenly halted midway I immediately knew something was wrong.>
And then what? How did Darwin get here?
<Once I sensed the anomaly I immediately halted the meeting and informed Darwin. He used space magic to teleport over and then he crushed lord winter's freezing effect.>
You can do that?
<If you are Darwin then yes. Both time and space magic are included in his omni magic so he teleported over, used time magic to interfere with the area frozen in time and then he hit it like a block of ice and shattered it. After all the sub-zero mage's origin is ice magic so if you can interfere with the time aspect then all that's left is ice.>
And apparently the floor. Judging by that hole he throws a pretty mean punch.
While I was being brought up to date by Navi the two opposing parties had simply been staring each other down. Now there is some movement.
"Lord winter, I hope that you are aware that you are both trespassing as well as attempting to abduct one of my employees. Both things are illegal and you will be held accountable for this."
"Tch. How can you say this is an abduction when I am merely taking back my daughter. Keeping a child from its parents is illegal too and what I am doing can be considered a case of self-defense."
"The clause you are referring to is only applicable to minors. Adults are free to do as they please and have no obligation to their parents as clearly stated in the law. Furthermore, you have no proof that my employee is your daughter as she herself made abundantly clear to your wife already."
"I don't need to have proof! You need to prove me wrong."
"Your daughter has been pronounced dead more than a year ago. If there is any burden of proof it lies with you."
"Hand her over then and I will prove it!"
"She is her own person and clearly doesn't wish to interact with you. Go home while I'm still in the mood to care about the damages a potential fight might cause."
"You think I can't see through your bluff! I invited multiple colleagues of mine who are just as strong as I am. We may be inferior to you individually but you can't win against all of us at the same time!"
Lord winter laughed like a maniac as he gestured to the people around him. I glance at them and find that all of them are somewhere around level 200. Can Darwin take them on?
<Don't worry about Darwin. Even if they all had double, triple, or quadruple their levels he would be perfectly fine. Worry about yourself instead. If you get hit by a stray attack or spell you might die.>
Can I be revived?
<You sure seem to take death lightly.>
How many opportunities will I get to see a fight between Darwin and similarly strong adventurers?
"They aren't of similar strength. Darwin is in a league of his own."
Huh?
Navi is suddenly standing behind me.
"Stay close I'll ward off any stray attacks and spells. It might be good for you to see what we will expect you to be able to do in the future."
"You want me to be like Darwin?"
"That would be asking a bit much. It will suffice if you are capable of beating those people."
While we've been talking lord winter and his friends have formed a half-circle around Darwin. There are five of them.
Lord winter isn't in the center of the formation. Instead, he and a red-robed figure are at the ends of the half-circle. The center is made up of three men in heavy armor.
The one closer to lord winter has long red hair and his armor is toned light blue. There's a war hammer in his hand that seems to be made from some giant creature's fang mounted on a thick shaft.
The one closer to the red-robed figure has short black hair and his armor is toned red. His weapon is also a war hammer but this time the hammerhead is made up of a metal cylinder that seems out of place to me.
The one in the middle is bald and his armor is wholly black. The flanged mace he holds seems a little ordinary but who am I to judge.
"I have heard of the tri elemental heavy armored warriors but it seems that name isn't backed by much truth. After all I only see two elemental heavy armored warriors."
The bald guy in the middle laughs in a horse voice and makes a few menacing swings with his mace. Darwin doesn't seem intimidated at all which seems to piss the bald guy off a lot.
"So you noticed. So what? No one who noticed has ever lived to tell the tale!"
"Sounds cliche to me. Guess I'm about to be the first one then. Will I get a medal?"
Darwin truly doesn't seem to take these guys seriously. He is trying to provoke them outright and with great success.
"I will piss on your grave, bastard! Kill him!"
Baldy seems quite worked up. He spins the flanged mace in his hand causing arcs of lightning to appear all around it. Like snakes, the arcs of lightning move around the mace and eventually gather inside a small opening of the flanged head. The arcs concentrate and form a purplish core that illuments the flanged head of the mace and sends out a plethora of lightning arcs to cover it.
