Making my way towards the less nice-looking part of the city, I start to notice that as I venture deeper into the slum area, more and more shady-looking guys have started tailing, most likely thinking that I was easy prey for them.
Now that I think about it, I really change after going to the shinobi world, didn't I? From a normal guy that was easy going into a monster…I've become the only thing that I always hated and swore to destroy. Fate really knows how to fuck you when you are the least prepared for it.
[That's exactly what happened to most of the candidates for the title and life of a Gamer. The original Gamer managed to survive and actually complete the challenge of battling his true self for control over his emotions]
Hearing the Game talking about how the whole thing actually is a test to see if the gamers could remain as they were before becoming something else and it seems that I was going towards the path of destruction which would mean that I would fail and I would never return to how I was before becoming a being that could raze countries with just a wave of my hand.
[Usually, the gamers don't even feel or notice the changes that The Game does to them thus by the time they notice how different they are from how they were in the past, they would have already passed the line of no return. Most of them end up insane, but the crazier ones actually use the situation to their advantage and that's when the Main Game has to interfere and end them so that the multi-verse would remain intact]
Thankfully, being far away from my loved ones actually made me remember my life before everything to go to hell, how my life before my parents' death. How I would actually love to play with the kids and most importantly my innocence as a little kid that wasn't corrupted by the dark side … and even though my life become grayer there were some good parts about that and those parts were my friends and the lovers that I made.
While I was lost in my thoughts of reminiscence, the group of thugs that were tailing has already reached forty guys hoping for an easy target that was loaded, unfortunately for them, I wasn't paying attention to their demands and that lead to one of them to stab me in the back. At first, they thought that I would beg for my life, but as I wasn't paying attention to them, I didn't even felt the knife injuring me and adding my healing actor, such a wound won't even take one MP to regenerate so why should I react?
Continuing to walk towards my destination, more and more knives made their way inside my body and by the time I noticed that I had somehow become heavier all of a sudden, my whole body had more than sixty knives stabbed into it. Blinking for a second, I didn't know how I should react seeing the situation I walked into. Should I just remove the knives and then make my way towards my destination or should I turn around, annihilate the thugs and then continue on my way?
The second choice would be the most efficient one, but at the same time, that would lead me to a path from where I don't think I would ever return, at least not how I was before. While the first option will definitely be the right one seeing as I would just remove the knives and leave the thugs behind, scarred but alive.
Or maybe I don't need to follow those rules of being a rightful person or an evil one. Why can I just do things my way without making myself into a hero or villain? Stopping myself from walking, I turned towards the thugs and the first thing that I saw was the ugliest guy in my entire life so without wasting too much time, I just smiled and using my ghosts that are always near me for various reasons, I order them to take all of the thugs and drop them near the guild while at the same I used magic to make a note for the guild employs about those thugs and their crime.
After I was done dealing with those idiots, I continue walking towards the slums and after another half an hour of walking, I finally arrived at my destination. In front of me stood quite a lot of scared kids, probably alarmed by the fact that someone older actually have come here, and judging by the fact that they were probably abandoned or abused by shady adventurers, I could understand their fear for someone older than them.
While I could just and deal with the whole situation as someone older would do, I've decided to play a slightly better card against them and that was to buy as much food as possible and give it to them, then talk with them about becoming my children. Using two of my clones, I had them rush back into the city and buy as much food as possible and bring the food back to me while I will prepare a place for the kids to eat.
By the time, I finished making the outdoor canteen, my two clones brought enough food to feed more than a thousand adults which to be fair was quite a sight to see.
Meanwhile, I could feel the older kids observing me from their safe places and as much as the younger kids want to come out and maybe get something to eat, they weren't allowed in case I would take them away forcefully.
Leaving the canteen, I walked towards the place where the kids were living and as soon as passed the five meters mark, a rock was thrown at me which made me stop in my tracks. Raising my head a little, I could see a scared boy aiming another rock at me and before he could throw the stone towards me, I've decided to at least tell them why I have come here.
