Jade glanced around but found no one. 

The voice had been so clear as though whoever spoke to her was watching her close by. At the thought, she whipped her head around, her eyes narrowing on the figure standing under one of the trees in the big garden. 

"Astoria?"

The silhouette of a lady walked out from the shadows, revealing her face under the bright moonlight. 

Astoria stood with her hands crossed in front of her chest and a disapproving look in her beady eyes. 

"Get down from there, Jade, and behave like a true dragon queen."

Jade's face hardened. If her mate had behaved like a true Dragon King, she would not have found herself in this mess in the first place. 

"Why?"

"Jade." The sharpness in her voice made Jade wince and she immediately did as she was told. 

"What's the matter? Why is the mafia lord escaping her own quarters like a thief?
