Jade's screams tore through the skies, piercing through Xander's eardrums as her fear was unleashed. 

Although she was confident he would catch her, the situation and how the transformation began was enough to make her lose her nerve and scream. 

Her yells suddenly stopped when his deep voice chuckled wildly through their mind-link. 

He was obviously enjoying himself at her expense. 

"Xander!" 

She shut her eyes quickly, not wanting to stare down, and let her mind think of the inevitable. 

He was right, Xyler thought. He scared the shit out of her. 

Seeing as she did not feel the warmth of his embrace and strong protective arms surrounding her, Jade parted her lips, ready to scream again when she felt a surge of wind rush in her direction.
