“Pregnant? How come?”
“Well, I believe you know how it happens, Ms. Rodriguez.” the doctor said awkwardly.
“Doctor, are you sure about it? I mean, can there be an error in the exam?” Chloe was distressed.
She looked at her mother, asking for support, but Jane was petrified.
“I feel sorry to say that the error rate in a blood test is less than 1%.”
Chloe had her eyes widened, her mouth half-open. That was unbelievable.
“I will prescribe some medicines and advise you to see a specialist as soon as possible. You need to do vitamin replacement and pregnancy monitoring. In addition, you will be released soon. Take care, Ms. Rodriguez.”
The doctor left the room and Chloe kept her eyes on the door.
Was it all a dream?
“OMG! I’m gonna be a grandma!” Jane stated with bright eyes. Then she glanced at Chloe. “Darling, I’m so happy for you! Congratulations!”
When Chloe finally looked at Jane, her eyes were terrified.
“I’m not ready for this, mother.” she whispered. “I’m scared.”
