The next day, Grayson received a text from Carton, his best friend. It simply read, Party! Tonight! Be there!
Grayson shook his head. He hadn’t heard from Carlton for a while and he texts this out of the blue. Grayson smiled as he dialed the number.
“Yo!” Carlton answered on the first ring. “What happened? You fall off the face of the earth or something?”
“Yeah, I was just about to ask you the same thing.” Despite that fact that he could be a jerk at times, he was the best friend Grayson ever had. He missed him. “So, what have you been up to?”
“Eh... you know... same old, same old.” Carlton sighed. “Partying, girls, partying, girls., and—”
“Let me guess, partying and girls,” Grayson cut him off.
“How’d you guess?” Carlton’s voice rose, feigning surprise. “What about you?”
“Eh... you know... married life.” Grayson grinned into the phone.
“Yuk!” Carlton yelled as if it were the worst thing he could have heard.
