章節 5: the first conformation
"Goddess!!" Retra yelled as she runs thought the now stabilizing rubble and jumps out the window after the goddess. Unable to realize what happened to me I blink stunned for half a minute as I try to move I that realize what happened I strain and struggle within the rouge demons webbing trying to at least free my wings I manage to free my right arm as I fear for myself the red ribbon appears in front of me before I can grab it I was though onto the ground as I she Retra with her jaws locked on the spiders leg as it roared and thrashed trying to shake Retra off I notice Ta-sheen Nema and Sanka al safe I focus my mind as the ribbon reappears "goddess don't!" I hear Sanka yell out as I grab the ribbon almost ripping it I say aloud "remember who you are bound by" as I let go the demons leg kicks me cutting the web cocoon just enough for me to free one of my wings. It was like a snap as wind and debris surround Retra like a whirlwind the spider demon seemed to hiss as the next thing that happened almost terrified me frozen but exited me as well, Retra was indeed a wolf demon but she was gigantic , ram like horn son the top of her head and it looked like part of her ribcage was coming out of her lower stomach she has a lizard like tail and more bones on the end of it shaped kind of like a farmers rake the bones at the end of her tail tree of them faced out and to back, on her rib cage on the right side was a red ribbon fastened tightly around one of the ribs her fur is a jet black as her eye's glowed red as her eyes narrowed into slights she roared snarling she attacked the spider demon but as she attacked it almost looked like she had attacked it wrong by practically jumping on top of the spider demon leaving her belly exposed Retra's tail caught the spiders demons fangs and within seconds the demon was torn apart nearly gaging on the site the spiders body simply vanished I saw Retra gazing at me I gasped and stared back Retra seemed to smile as she then walked over to the goddess who was still trying to get the last of the web off from the looks of it she sighed and hearing her voice is nothing compared to this shape she still had a rough rock grinding voice but it was deeper "you need aid there" she spoke to the goddess her eye's narrowed as she slowly began to rip the webbing off the goddess an evil glint caught my full attention as Retra tried to bite the goddess's wing acting fast the goddess rolled her back and tightly stretched the ribbon in front of her where it had been tattered Retra backed off after that I stood there stunned now outside the temple with Nema and Sanka as the goddess stood up she then grabbed the tattered part of the ribbon and let go of it, it was fixed sighing the goddess approached us as I looked at her I barely notice Retra's back as a wolf shaking her pelt franticly.
"Nema sorry for the wait but what was it you wanted to ask me?" the goddess spoke to Nema who looked just as scarred as I was about Retra "I, I wanted to go home" Nema sounded terrified as the goddess looked surprised but smiled "very well Nema " the goddess spoke as she then grabbed a pendant from around her neck "here take this with you Nema, as proof that you have helped me and if you need it just ask" Nema grabbed the pendent a wood carving of a wolf it looked like. "Say Ta-sheen? " the goddess spoke as I looked at her she looked overly exhausted "can we speak a little later alright" I could only nod as the goddess collapsed after that landing on Retra, Retra just laid down allowing the goddess to use her as a pillow. We've been cleaning up the rubble along the hallway where the demon attacked and according to Sanka demons are drawn to demonic energy's as well as the presence of a god so the spider demon came cause it could tell where the goddess was and with learning that the demon Retra is constantly trying to possess the goddess is a little unnerving on how much self-control the goddess has over her as I lift a heavy stone and put it to the one side of the wall to make room for the temple builders as soon as it seems to calm down as we've moved most of the rubble out of the immediate way.
I let my courtesy take over as I see the goddess still resting and what that scroll was the other day that Sanka hit Retra with that encased scroll as I enter the library I look at the shelves I the mid evening light I go off of memory as I look for a light brown wrapping I scan the shelves I notice a oak box the lock a dark metal as I reach for it I hear a growling that sent a shiver up my spine I stop and look over my shoulder to see a fox its pelt white and grey it's a female her eyes are unique there cat slits no wait – she is a demon quickly I turn to face it knocking over many scrolls and the box as it made a loud thud fear engulfs me as the fox stares at me as it starts to creep closer a attack snarl Retra suddenly appears tackling the fox as it draws its attention away from me and to Retra trying to defend itself the fox demon yowls aw it escapes Retra's grasp and flees the library "Ta-sheen are you alright?" it was the goddess "ah y-yes" as I mutter I can't stop shacking. Something is up I can't understand Ta-sheen she as she's alright but she's shaking did that fox demon corrupt her 'Retra?' I as mindfully as I counted to observe Ta-sheen 'no I made sure that I stopped that demon before she could do anything but that doesn't mean that the fox won't be—goddess?!' Retra snapped me out of my conversation as Ta-sheen hugged my practically wailing almost falling over I stabilize myself and hug her as my attention draws to what's around as I see it that box I stored certain scrolls in scrolls that contain information about me Retra and about the other current gods as well I sigh as Retra starts to clean up the scattered scrolls as she grabs the box she stops as she feels my gaze 'drop that now!' I order my thoughts to her as she does what I ask obediently. "Goddess you woke up and ran with a hurry is everything al-right" Sanka spoke trailing off as she saw ta-sheen I sighed as I looked at Sanka over my wing " Sanka will you see to Ta-sheen for me I need to do a few things" I finished as Ta-sheen let go of me still reluctant and upset but she did respectfully as she followed Sanka "Retra do you know who that fox was and was it?-" I cut myself off as I see Retra look to the side to where the fox had been fought off "no I don't know who that fox demon is but it's not a rouge is another Alpha demon like me it has strength but it was uncommon and when I tried to test it by getting more aggressive it withdrew itself which means its lived for some time now does that answer your question goddess" Retra finished as I nodded in a response and I ponder on the thought that demons were coming here so soon its way to early unless they know something that Retra doesn't, what could it be that they know about Ta-sheen that I do not what am I missing I just don't get it. As I ponder on my thoughts I pick up the box a d verify the scrolls were all still there and to my relief they were. I sighed still morally upset as I followed Sanka down the hallway she seemed to noticed as she slowed in her step to walk next it me "you know I just saw Retra chase a fox type demon out of the library is that what you are so upset about Ta-sheen?" I do a slow nod her eyes practically go wide "yes Retra saved me from it" I barely managed to say as Sanka gasped in shock.
"Are you all right Ta-sheen did that demon hurt you" she sounded concerned for me bewildered I nod in a small response telling her I'm alright as we walk into the main room of our area I sit on one of the chairs as Sanka looks at my bruises to see if there healing properly as she finishes she places a hand on my head "don't worry Ta-sheen the goddess promised you that you'd be safe and she keeps her word and with saying that I want to tell you about the goddess targeting so to speak its people who've broken one of her deals way to many times for her to ignore so she targets them and usually tracks them down for a talk and if push comes to shove she eliminates them there by severing the deal that they made that is what a target is to the goddess but I guess the most important thing we can do is not lie to her now cause we serve her temple and her so we have to discover who we are and if we want to stay or not" like with Nema she chose to leave I think as right before she speaks the goddess spoke "a word Sanka when your done if you please" Sanka looks at the hallway entrance and nods to me as she then leaves to follow the goddess.
