Angeline smiled broadly as she tasted the result of her cooking, the egg-fried rice she had just finished making after nearly six consecutive failures.

  Yep. Angeline was currently dealing with the greatest enemy in her life, one that she had to beat no matter what; cook.

  She looked up at the clock and it was already eleven o'clock, almost midnight. She didn't know when David would come home because usually David came home after she fell asleep and was gone by the time he woke up in the morning with the breakfast he had prepared on the table for Angeline.

  Angeline finished washing the used kitchen utensils she used to make her first successful fried rice and walked to the bedroom to get her cellphone.

  Angeline opened the phone icon and pressed the number one, holding it for a while until her cell phone automatically dials David's number.
