Alastair gently laid Samantha on his bed and wiped her drenched forehead. Though she looked pale, she seemed to be fine and he pecked her lips tenderly, making sure not to wake her up. His heart ached to see the condition she was in.

Although Calix was a fine man and worthy of being by his side, he was not as important as Samantha was to him. She was his soul mate, his life and without her, he had no reason for existence. Just the thought of her putting her life in danger for someone else made him lose his mind.

"My stubborn girl." He mumbled and sighed in helplessness. He wished to stop her from using her powers, from putting her life in danger for others. He wanted to scold her for not thinking about herself, about him. But he did not heart to even raise his voice against her, let alone scold her.
