The rain did not stop even after half a day had passed. Instead, the intensity only rose as time progressed towards midnight. The entire kingdom of Oryn and its outskirts was drenched, and the rivers were starting to flood the villages. The people were now worried, each for a different reason altogether. If the rain did not stop, the kingdom would soon be flooded, and all their homes would be swept away or destroyed by the thunderstorm.

All they could do was pray for the rain the stop soon, or else they would be left with nothing. It was a sleepless night for many people, and all everyone wanted was for the day to arrive as quickly as possible.

Completely oblivious to the destruction taking place at Oryn, the Duke sat in front of the young witch, bearing the thunderstorms and the cold. He was now completely drenched, and slowly, the cold was seeping through his skin and bones, making him shiver.
