章節 509: 25

"You honestly believe that the presence of dragons on this world will be enough to repair all the damage that's been done?" Eliza scoffed lightly, "Damage that couldn't be undone by dozens of programs, and millions of credits."

"I don't think," I deactivated the wind barriers, and the wind hit us.

All of it fresh, sweet, and powerful.

"Smell that air, and tell me again that you don't believe me again?" I strode over to the edge.

I jumped off the ledge. My wings caught the wind as I glided down the side of the hollow mountain. One wingbeat was all it took to carry me away from the camp. I circled the whole of Greenland slowly. Staying about a mile away from the walls so that I wouldn't alarm the humans on the walls.

I knew that they noticed me. I knew that they couldn't really do much of anything to me. The strength of my wings was more than enough to avoid most of their attacks. Anything I couldn't avoid I could block. I don't know why I took off on my own to survey the land, but I kind of needed it for some reason.

I stopped long after it was dark to land back at the top of the hollow mountain, and rest while I could. Letty would start training me in the morning after all. I laid down, and slept the required two hours I needed. Letty was waiting for me when I woke. He insisted on me learning to spar in human form since this whole infiltration plan relied on me being able to stay in human form long term. I agreed to his logic.

I promptly regretted it afterward. Letty did teach me. The first day was just hand to hand combat. Letty would strike me every single time I slacked in my form or made an unnecessary movement. Beating me half to death with strikes powerful enough to break my bones.

Once he was done beating the crap out of me he took me to the forge where he instructed me on the requirements to create a soul blade for the rest of the day while I healed naturally. The next day he focused on blade combat. Knives, and daggers to begin with. Proceeding to beat me within an inch of death again before taking me back to the forge to try, and create a pure ore infused with my soul. The blade continued getting larger each day until I was training with a long sword.

Resetting back to the original hand to hand combat we began with. It took me a month to create pure ores, and another month after that to infuse my soul into the ore along with my flesh, and blood. I trained with Letty longer, and longer each day. Soon six months had gone by, and I'd only managed to make two failed short swords. I decided to keep both blades as my own personal weapons because one possessed the ability to channel my poison affinity, and the other possessed the ability to channel both the spatial element, and a partial time core.

The blade could rend things from existence or slow the time of the object they cut, but both were failures. That meant that I would eventually outgrow both blades even though they currently possessed strength equal to my own at the moment. The poisoned blade kind of had a random effect. It could produce any of the toxins I was capable of using right now. The twin black blades were curved, and one sided.

Both were rather plain in nature, but they weapons meant for killing. Decorations weren't required for a weapon that was meant for killing. Most of the failed blades crumbled to dust without being of any use to me at all. According to Letty the only reason these blades survived was because I'd used enough of my scales for them to become legitimate enchanted weapons. They were slightly unstable though.

Both could fail at any time, and turn to dust like the others or they could explode if they gathered enough mana. I could detect the instability in the blades, and keep them stable. That wouldn't last forever. Eventually I wouldn't be able to properly stabilize them, and they would fail whether I wanted them to or not. After eight months of trying I finally managed to start having free time after failing to forge a soul blade.

I used that time to learn all I could from Sekka about his world, and practice the accepted behavior of slaves. Three days before I intended to leave for the elven world I finally succeeded in creating my own soul blade, and I instantly understood the difference between a regular blade, and a true soul blade. The nearly transparent longsword in my hand resonated with the full power of a dragon king, and it seemed to call out its name to me. A name that wasn't meant to be spoken unless I needed its power. I could feel it resting next to my soul within.

Sekka handed over the spatial stone that held the coordinates to his master's manor. One year wasn't all that long for an elven exploration missions. They did have a three hundred year lifespan. The core would allow us to communicate with his home or travel there at will. For the last three days I slept.

Ethan picked out the advance team. The advance team would hold our entry position onto the elven world. Sekka, and I would act as the strike team. We would be the ones funneling the slaves to the safety of our little camp. We'd manage to create a functioning fridge, and freezer that ran off small pure mana cores I'd managed to create, and we'd stockpiled enough food to last a thousand people ten years or more using the meat of fish, and magical beasts alike.

The advanced team consisted of just ten people not including Sekka or myself. There were another fifty that would come after us to hold the compound. Letty had helped me construct a temporary spatial gate that would link to the compound on the other side.
