章節 24: CHAPTER 17 - PRIDE OF FACTIONS (1)
"What's wrong, onii-chan", asked Unicorn as she is talking to Kay. "Are you okay, onii-chan".
Kay is facing several problems that led him to bust out from the meeting room in Azur Lane. With Cell still roaming around without any lead, adding these girls problem probably cause him several headaches.
"Commander! Commander!", shouted Javelin with energetic voice. "Are you taking a rest?".
"Do you want sleep, commander?", asked Laffey.
Kay gives Unicorn a little head pat as he is trying to make Unicorn less worrying about him. He tells her that he is all alright, although the real situation is otherwise.
After Kay and the others managed to meet the reinforcements, the situation is quite tense as Enterprise grabs his collar angrily. Belfast and Wales are trying to calm Enterprise.
"What the meaning of this, commander!", shouted Enterprise. "Why are you letting the enemies go away?".
Kay refused to answer and said nothing to her, making her more furious and mad at him. Only Essex and Shangri-La are the only girls that have light injuries. The others are badly injured and being treated by Vestal.
Their injuries is adding oil to burning fire for Enterprise. She is starting to questioning Kay 's abilities and commands for the fleet.
"We have important matters to deal first, Enterprise", said Kay calmly. "We are done here". Kay pushed her hands that grabbing his collar and walks away.
"Everyone, retreat to Azur Lane!!", shouted Kay.
Wales, Belfast and the others Royal Navy shipgirls followed the order without questioning it. To avoid any problems, Wales asked Belfast to stay with Kay until they reached Azur Lane.
Enterprise is reluctant to accept the order. However, she has no choices unless to accept it since they enemies are already withdrawn from the battle.
"As you wish, Madam Wales", said Belfast. Then, she decides to stay with Kay who is currently with Vestal.
"What I should do, my majesty", said Wales, trying to calm herself and find the answer to the problem.
After they reached Azur Lane, Kay has agreed with Wales to make a meeting with the others. Leader and representative of Eagle Union and Royal Navy already there to discuss the problems.
The atmosphere in the room is quite tense with mixed feeling. Enterprise makes everyone knew that she is not happy with the current situation.
Queen Elizabeth, Warspite, Hood, Illustrious, Wales and Belfast leader and representative from Royal Navy while Enterprise, Hornet, Essex, Cleveland and Vestal from Eagle Union. Akashi also take a part of the meeting after being forced (baited) by Kay.
"Don't worry about me", said Cleveland. "I am good enough to walk, this injury is nothing!".
"Hah.....Please don't force yourself, Cleveland", said Vestal. "Now, I have two girls to handle now".
Tok...Tok...
They became silent when they hear someone knocking the door. Kay is opened the door and entering the meeting room. His hands are full with reports for that operation.
He sit on the chair that Belfast prepared for him. With everything is ready, he starts the meeting while Belfast is standing beside him.

"Kaga and Akagi are siding with sirens!!", said Wales. "Are you sure, commander".
"You should ask this green cat.....I mean Akashi", said Kay. "Can you told us more, Akashi?".
Akashi tells them about what she saw in the cave. A massive ship named Orochi, a black wisdom cube activated the ship by given the energy. Finally, Kaga and Akagi are talking with the siren, Observer Alpha.
"Kaga and Akagi told us that Orochi is controlling the sirens, nyaa", said Akashi.
"Do you believe with her, commander?", asked Enterprise, interruption Akashi which still trying to tell something else about the Orochi. "She is from Sakura Empire, she is our enemies".
"Are you saying that you did not believe what Sheffield and Edinburgh told me, Enterprise", questioned Kay. "I think that is more than enough".
"And discarding our plan just because of that reason?", asked Enterprise as she stands.
Kay did not know much about sirens. That is probably a reason why he starts to change the plan. He felt something is wrong as he never has a chances to meet any high-class siren.
"You already told me about the danger of high-class sirens", said Kay. "Are you saying that I should risking the others without knowing their motive?".
"That is a coward move, commander", said Enterprise. "Those sirens are meant to be destroyed".
BANG........
"Then, why took so long for you to kill them!!!!", said Kay angrily. "How long you have been fighting with them? How many times did you win against them? How many you defeat them?".
"If you think that are simple, then why are you still fighting against them!!!".

"Please calm yourself, Enterprise", said Wales. "It is not good example for the others. You are the leader of Eagle Union, remember".
"Well, I don't think it was completely Enterprise fault", said Hood. "Commander should takes some blame about this".
Kay already storming out from the meeting room with Belfast is trying to follow him up. His arguments with Enterprise is finally out of his hand.
"You should not call our commander liked that, Enterprise", said Queen Elizabeth. "I know he sometimes pretty annoying but he still our commander".
All the girls in the meeting fell in silent as they are trying to recall back the reason why Kay starts to storm out from the room.
A few minutes ago,
"You are not suit the become our commander!!", shouted Enterprise. "Your decisions, ambitions and leaderships are lackluster!!".
"...I never agree to become your commander", said Kay. "You are the one who choose me. You all decide to make me become your commander for Azur Lane".
"You know what, I don't care anymore".
"Wales! Decide what you want to choose your new commander".
"I'm leaving".
Kay is walking away and storming out from the room. Everyone is surprised for his action. Wales asked Belfast to follow him and trying to consult him for his decision.
.......
"What we should do, your majesty?", asked Wales. "He is too precious to let go. Not to mention, he already helps us many times".
"Warspite! What is your suggestion?", asked Queen Elizabeth.
"Should we vote?", said Warspite.
"............."
A few minutes later,
"Why are still supporting him?", asked Enterprise. "Why are you still wanting him to become our commander, Essex and Cleveland?".
They are deciding to vote either Kay should become their commander or not as Warspite 's suggestion. 7 out of ten are supporting Kay with all of Royal Navy want him to remain as their commander. The other two are Essex and Cleveland. Only Enterprise, Hornet and Vestal are rejected him.
"Well, he already proved himself and I always joined most of the major mission with him", said Cleveland. "He is a good commander, Enterprise".
"What about you, Essex?", asked Enterprise. "You already saw his failure at the Fallen City. Yet, you are still supporting him. Why?".
"Don't take me wrong, Enterprise-senpai", said Essex. "We all agreed to follow his plan. It just, we are the one who failed to accomplish it. We are the ones who failed him".
"He is great a commander, Enterprise-senpai".
Enterprise cannot believes the result as they want Kay to remain as their commander. With the decisions are against her, Enterprise has no choice but to follow it.
"It is seven against three", said Queen Elizabeth. "Then, it has been declared that Kay will remains as our commander. Hopefully, he will changes his attitude a little bit".
"He is a little bit arrogant", said Illustrious. "But, he is always cared about us. I think, he is too shy to show that kinds of personality at us".
Enterprise walks away from the room with Hornet and Vestal are following her while are trying to calm her down. Before she left, she is saying something at the Royal Navy who always supports him.
"I hope that your choice will bring success to Azur Lane, Royal Navy", said Enterprise. "In order to unite all the factions, we must have high ambitions and leaderships. Yet, your choice seem different".

"She left...", said Warspite. "Hahhh, another problem that coming afterwards. Are you sure that you are okay, my majesty".
"We can handle it, Warspite", said Queen Elizabeth.
"Because that is what our past guide us"

"Zuikaku!"
"Zuikaku!!!!"
Zuikaku woke up from her daydreaming after Takao called her several times as she saw her lack of focused. Takao is quite worried about Zuikaku as she just returns to Sakura Empire with her sister, Shoukaku. Takao scared that both of them are not returning after received the order from Kaga.
She quite relieved after seeing them again. Well, that only last a few seconds because Zuikaku is suddenly being quite which making her worried again.
Why, you may asked. Well, let see what is happens after her fight against Enterprise which been intervened by Kay.
Several days ago in the Fallen City, Enterprise is picking a fight against unwilling Zuikaku. Before the arrow hits her, a suddenly lightning strikes surrounding her and deplete the attack. A few seconds later, a lightning strike separates them.
"Now, can all of you please calm down a little bit", said Kay.
"Commander!! / Kay!!!"
Both of them are looking at each others after calling him, making them a little bit puzzled and surprised. Enterprise is a little bit of frustrated.
"I don't expect that a girl liked you, easily called our commander named that sweet", said Enterprise. "Are you seduce the commander, crane girl?".
"No....it is not liked that!!", said Zuikaku while feels embarrassed. "I also don't expect a girl liked you accepting him as your commander".
".............."
Enterprise tries to shot her, only to be block by Kay with the sword. Her bow is flying away from her hands due to his attack.
"I said, calm yourself, Enterprise", said Kay. "The order to retreat is already been given".
"And I also ordered you and Wales to remain at the fleet, the girls need your command".
"So, why you are ignoring it, Enterprise?".
"............"
Enterprise does not wants to answer his question as Zuikaku still in front of them. She does not want any enemies know their problems. Enterprise thinks that their enemies will using the problems as a chance to weaken them.
"Well, if you not gonna answer it, please retreat immediately", said Kay. "And you, Zuikaku. What are still here?".
"Don't tell me you still here because that white fox asked you?".
Zuikaku is quite reluctant to answer, but Kay already knew thanks to her body languages which is hard to fool him. Kay is annoyed as Zuikaku always trying to helps her friends without thinking any consequences.
Kay flicks her forehead which making her hurts a little bit. She rubs her forehead and looks at Kay, not fully understands her fault. Kay sighs a little bit.
"Well, at least you are still fine", said Kay. "So, what do you want, Zuikaku?".
"I just.....I.....I....", said Zuikaku.
She seems cannot finished her answers as Enterprise staring at her fiercely, making her lost confidences to tell her feelings. Kay becomes puzzled and confused, not understands her intentions.
"I am sorry....", said Zuikaku as she walks away.

"ZUIKAKU!!!", shouted Takao. "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?".
Takao shouts at Zuikaku again after Zuikaku is being out of her mind. Zuikaku is surprised after hears the scream. She is trying to ask the forgiveness from Takao.
"I am sorry, Takao", said Zuikaku. "It just, I am feeling too tired".
"Then, take a rest", said Takao. "You are worrying everyone here".
Ayanami is also here, accompanies Takao and Zuikaku. She is worried about Zuikaku just liked before in the first operation.
"You still have that sword, desu", said Ayanami. "Ayanami thought you want to return it, desu?".
"I will return to him", said Zuikaku. "Next time when I manage to meet him".
"......???"

"Do you understand what both of you have done, Kaga and Akagi?", asked Nagato. "Not only you did not report us about that man, you also failed to live up the expectations".
Nagato is furious with Kaga and Akagi while Mutsu only watching her sister mad at them. Kawakaze is in bad state as she being injured after fighting against Kay.
"What is you excuse, Kaga and Akagi?", asked Nagato, seeking the answers from them".
"That man is not worth mentioning, Nagato", answered Kaga. "I can assure you that you do not need to be concern about it".
"Then, can I asked you about the spear that stabbed our land?", asked Nagato while pointed at the spear at the sacred tree. The spear is standing proudly with Azur Lane flag waving it, shown its power and glory. Not matters how many times they tried to removed it, it is proof futile.
"That spear...that flag....is already make our hearts hurt and in pain!!", said Nagato. "That man is easily coming here without anyone noticing it. You still did not want to accept your mistakes Kaga and Akagi?".
Kaga clutches her teeth as she admits that she cannot runs from her mistakes. She knew that it was her fault since she was looked down at Kay.
With the black wisdom cube is already taken by Sheffield and Edinburgh, plus their jade broaches, making it more worst for Akagi. She is been quite for a moment.
"Calm down, Nagato-sama", said Akagi, trying to calm the situation. "I admit, we are failed to live up your expectations".
"It because, we know nothing about that man".
"What do you mean, Akagi?", asked Nagato.
"That man is unknown to us", said Akagi. "We cannot just tell you more about him because lack of information. We do not want for you to worry about our problems against him, Nagato-sama".
"Please forgive us".

Nagato fell in silent, trying to understand her. Akagi is right as they almost know nothing about Kay. It is true that Nagato will be more worried when she heard about Kay. She cannot just blames them completely as Kaga and Akagi almost bring Sakura Empire to victory.
"I understand, Akagi", said Nagato. "Now, please find any information for that man. I will never forget this humiliation as long as I stay here, watching that sacred tree".
"As you wish, Nagato-sama", responded Akagi.
Kaga and Akagi bow at her and leave the place. As they walk, Kaga is trying to talk with Akagi.
"I am very sorry, Akagi-neesama", said Kaga. "You already lost your favourite jade broaches.....and I failed....."
Kaga is out of words when she is looking at Akagi. Akagi expressions is quite scary yet sad in the same time.
"Kaga....you already meet that man, right?", asked Akagi. "What do you think about him?".
"I...I despise him when I saw his face", said Kaga.
"And, why is that, Kaga?", asked Akagi.
"I don't know, but my heart...I am sorry, nee-sama", said Kaga as she doesn't wants her sister to worry about her feeling towards Kay.
"I never meet that man", said Kaga. "His face, his appearance, his personality, his style and everything else are quite unfamiliar to me".
"He makes me feels very interested at him. And, I want to see him with eyes".
