章節 17: CHAPTER 12 - FLOWERS ARE CHARMING YET BEAUTIFUL (4)
"That bird seems familiar," Zuikaku said.
Zuikaku is currently resting with Takao after a little practice with her. Since Shoukaku is busy dealing with Nagato and the others, she decides to spend time with Takao. She's not interested in talking to higher ups, so she mostly leaves it to Shoukaku.
"Are you speaking about that bird? ", asked Takao. "I don't see anything different from other birds that I have ..."
Before Takao manages to finish her sentence, the bird lays on her head. The bird standing proudly, acting liked gotten the special achievements.
"Are you mad, Takao? ", asked Zuikaku.
"......"
A few seconds later, Takao draws her sword and attempts to slice the bird. Her movements using the sword are astonishing except not a single strike hit the bird. The bird, too, doesn't help clear up this problem, just to grin at Takao. Further making her more frustration and rage.
"Come back here, little bird!" "Takao shouted. The bird is trying to run away with Takao pursuing the bird in fury.
"Wait for me, Takao! ", shouted Zuikaku. Then she follows Takao, who is still chasing the bird.
A few minutes later, after several attempts to catch the bird, they reached the higher ground. They have failed miserably.
"Where's that stupid bird, huh? ", asked Takao. "I 'm sure I'll cook it after I managed to capture it."
"Calm down, Takao," Zuikaku said. "It's just a bird".
Zuikaku is trying to find the bird. Then she realizes that someone is already here. She continues to follow the direction the person left behind, only to see an unknown man who looks familiar with Zuikaku.
He 's wearing a silver coat with a hood covering his head. Two swords can be seen from his right side, one of which is very familiar to Zuikaku. Then she heard the man talking to her.
"But I have to say that. The Empire of Sakura is really beautiful"
"Am I right, Zuikaku?".
Zuikaku looks at Kay, surprised and confused with his presence in the Sakura Empire. Usually, she's going to start attacking any intruders who come here without permission. This time, however, is different. Her body refuses to move.
It's different from Takao, though. When she saw Kay, she drew her sword toward Kay and started attacking him.
As the sword comes closer towards Kay, Takao thinks she's going to get a clean hit. Only to realize that Kay manages to stop it in the last second, leaving her shocked.
"What!!!!," Takao said. Then she realizes that Kay is already making his way to counter it.
By flickering Takao forehead.
"It hurts," Takao said in tears. She rubs her eyes to make the pain go away.
"Calm down, little girl," Kay said. "There is no need for you to kill me".

"What are you doing here, Kay? ", asked Zuikaku,
"Are you acquainted with him, Zuikaku? ", asked Takao. "I don't think you have any other kind of connection except me. Not to mention, this is the first man you've ever known".
"What do you mean by that one, Takao? "Asked Zuikaku while still feeling embarrassed after hearing it. "Still, what are you doing here, Kay? ".
"Sightseeing," Kay said. "And, I just want to see this place on my own. You can think that curiosity seems to be my interest for this place.
"You are the commander of the Azur Lane," Takao said. "The only reason you 're going to come here is probably to attack us."
Takao is trying to discover his reason for coming here. She's still behaving calmly and cautiously with Kay. She's not going to let her guard down.
"There is no reason for me to attack this place," Kay said.
"But you are the enemy commander," Takao said.
"They choose me to be their leader," Kay said. "I don't care for that position personally either. Since, I've just taken the role for my own good".
Upon hearing that, Takao is puzzled. She doesn't understand the words that Kay talking about. Is he actually the Azur Lane commander?. The man who succeeds in forcing Kaga and Akagi to withdraw. Yet his phrases seem to lack reverence and motivation. Takao is trying to talk to Kay
"So, if we ask you to become our commander, will you betray Azur ..."
Zapp.....
Until she tries to finish her sentences, she knows that the sword is close to her ear, with Kay in front of her. His face is terrifying and dangerous.
"Don't take me wrong, little girl," Kay said. "I might appear dismissive to them. Yet I never break my word".
"They choose to follow me and trust me"
"That's more than enough of that."
Kay put his sword back into his scabbard. Takao relieves a deep breath as she knows she's made a big mistake trying to play mind game with Kay.
"Well, not all the girls on the Azur Lane support me," Kay said. "The Eagle Union in particular. It's probably their representative who despises me. Fortunately, most of the Royal Navy is gracious enough to support me".
Kay is looking at Takao and Zuikaku. There's really no need for him to tell Zuikaku and Takao about his dilemma at Azur Lane. The reason he comes here, however, is not to become their commander. He also has a obligation of his own to take full responsibility about The Cell.
"You are a terrible man," Takao said.
"That's the same thing for you, little girl," Kay said. "Choose to start a war with allies instead of sirens. I don't know either, why the leader of the Sakura Empire is messed up. Messing around with wrong people from different faction".
They still have enemies to kill in order to protect humanity. But they're still fighting each other only because their views are different.
Takao was trying to counter Kay 's comment about the Sakura Empire. It seems Zuikaku refrains her from doing that.
"Well, I'm not just coming here to talk," Kay said. "I come here because of my sword, Rakurai (Lightning Strike). Have you seen it? ".
A moment of silence as Zuikaku and Takao try to understand. They 're trying to remember their recollection of his missing sword. It's just for them to realize that one of them actually uses it as her own weapon.
"You mean this sword, huh? ", asked Zuikaku while showed the sword.
"Finally, I've found it," Kay said. "Thanks Mr. Eagle, for nothing at all."
Kay takes the sword from the Zuikaku's hands. As he takes the sword, their fingers touch each other, making Zuikaku embarrassed, but still acting calm.
"Have you been using it? ", asked Kay. "Well, this sword would probably cause you a little trouble if it was used by an unsuitable person."
Rakurai is a special kind of sword. The sword chooses its master to use it. This sword is going to get stronger and stronger, depends on its master. It's capable of integrating with different elements and power that become the reason why it's so powerful.
There are many criteria for this sword to be wield. The master does not need to be strong, however he or she must have a strong will and determination. A courageous person who is going to sacrifice everything to protect. When it was used by the wrong person, the sword will cause a shock wave to drive the person away.
When Kay looks at the sword, he senses that someone pulls his sleeve.
"I don't have a problem when I used it," Zuikaku said. "It's just that sword that seems to reject me."
Zuikaku spoke to Kay, staring down at her feet, avoiding eye contact with Kay. She's a bit shorter than Kay.
"This sword is unique", said Kay. "There is no way that......"
Kay recalls his recollection of Zuikaku 's action against The Cell. Her action is probably the reason why the sword does not fully reject her, as the sword feels Zuikaku's resolve and strong will.
"So, that is the reason", said Kay.
Then, the warning filled the whole Sakura Empire with loud noise. There appears to be something happening here. Perhaps they're already alerting the intruders, Kay feels it's time for him to move on to the next step. A little early than he had expected.
"This is a little early than I had expected," Kay said. "I'm probably supposed to go before it's too late."
Kay gives the sword back to Zuikaku and moves on. Looks like someone has forgotten his sword for the second time.
"Wait, where are you going now? ", asked Takao.
"Sorry, girls," Kay shouted. "There's something I have to do."
A few seconds later, Kay could not be seen from their naked eyes. He left in a rush, making Takao step on to pursue him.
"I think I will say it to him next time", said Zuikaku as she staring at the sword.

"Please report your current condition to me, everyone of you," Kay said while using the communicator.
"This is Essex. Right now in the position as we planned, "said Essex.
"This Sharing-La, I'm also in a position," said Sharing-La.
"This is Sheffield and Edinburgh," said Sheffield. "I am so sorry, Master. We've messed up with the plan".
They can also hear a voice saying "I 'm sorry" a few times. Undoubtedly, Edinburgh was the cause of the alarm that activated in the Sakura Empire.
"Nonetheless, we managed to steal something from Kaga and Akagi."
Kay is looking at the watch. The time is a little bit early, but he's going to move on to the next plan.
"Please be careful, Sheffield and Edinburgh," Kay said. "We 're going to proceed to the next plan. I hope those three girls will be ready anytime soon".
"We 're ready as you wish, commander! "Cleveland shouted.
"Yeah, wait for my signal," Kay said. "I hope you 're all excited to see something interesting."
"Roger that, commander."
Kay removes the communicator and jumps from one house to another. He's trying to search for Shoukaku. If his assumption is right, she will be with Nagato and the others. Since Sheffield and Edinburgh have already met Kaga and Akagi, both of them is not a huge problem to disturb this plan.
"Which one is Nagato by the way", said Kay.
He was staring at his smartphone and trying to scan the girls with Shoukaku. Since Essex had told him, he already knows Kawakaze. He feels confused as he scans the girls.
"Wait......What? ", Kay said that. "You 're saying that the two little girls who wear a shrine maiden are the rulers of the Sakura Empire." He pointed a finger at Nagato and Mutsu.
"What's wrong with this world, huh? "In his head, asked Kay. "I've had enough with Queen Elizabeth, now there are two more of them."
Kay is trying to act calmly and to reflect on his duties. He still needs to finish his job on this mission.
"Alright, time to make some epic appearance," Kay said.
The alarm rings very loud, indicating that the intruders seem to be here. Nagato and Mutsu were trying to calm the situation as they were protecting this place. Kawakaze is behaving like a bodyguard, focused on her surroundings, monitoring any threat that could hurt Nagato.
Suddenly, they heard someone scream. They look at the direction of that scream, only to see an unknown man, with a massive bolt of light around him. The man lowers his hood that covers his head, revealing his true face to the Sakura Empire.
"If you still refuse my element, I will force it," Kay said to the sword of Zuikaku.
Kay draws the sword astoundingly. The blade exploded with fire at first. Until the lightning element had possessed the sword with force. Creating the sword is full of lightning surrounds it.
Everyone in the Sakura Empire saw his ability with surprise and horror. They 're not expecting someone who's strong to come here. Some of them feel frightened as they watch.
"I am the commander of Azur Lane".

Kawakaze doesn't wait much longer and begins attacking Kay. She 's holding her sword, and she's aiming for his head.
Klang... Klang...
Kay stop the attack with only one hand, acting as Kawakaze is not worth to become his opponent.
Klang .... klang .... klang .... klang.
Attacks and assaults by Kawakaze, seeking to get a clean strike. Yet, how many she's attempted, it's pointless. Every move of her is easy for Kay to read.
And after that, she missed a strike. Making her lose her balance. Kay takes this opportunity to catch her and throw her at the tree. She felt the pain, but she was also trying to wake up from there.
"You are very determined, little girl," Kay said. "But, I do not come here to fight you".
"Then, what are you doing here, human?", asked Nagato. "I am Nagato, the flagship of the Sakura Empire's Combined Fleet. Are you the new commander of Azur Lane? You have the power to take over the world and I will confirm this with my own eyes."
Nagato stands proudly as Kay senses her determination. At least she's a bit better than Queen Elizabeth to have Kay recognize her.
"You really have the courage to come here, human," Hyuuga said. "You may have been able to injure Kawakaze, but we are still a proud warrior of the Sakura Empire,"
"Can you defeat all of us, kindly ask? "Ise asked.
Kay smirked at them, making them furious and mad.
"I don't come here to fight you," Kay said. "I just want to give you a little warning. I hope you don't forget that you're bombing my school in Azur Lane.
"How do you feel when I attempt to kill those children? "Kay asked while pointing to Kisaragi, Mikazuki and the other children.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Nagato said.
Kay's deep thinking, either Nagato's lying or she's telling the truth is pretty troublesome. It's possible that Akagi didn't say anything to her and act without her permission.
"Well, it doesn't matter," Kay said.
Kay lifts his arm and fires a flare gun, providing a signal for the others to act. A few seconds later, a few lights cover the sky.
"What are you doing? "Kawakaze shouted.
Kay ignores her question and takes the flag out of his watch. Then he placed the flag on the ground. The flag of Azur Lane can be seen all over the Sakura Empire.
"How dare you stain our land with that flag! "Hyuuga shouted. "You insult us, are you? ".
"This is just the beginning," Kay said.
Suddenly, someone screamed at Nagato. Fusou runs to Nagota as quickly as she could get. She fell just before a few more moves to reach Nagato.
"We have a huge problem, Nagato-sama," Fusou said. "The spear with the flag of Azur Lane is on the sacred tree. We can't remove it".
"What!!! ", Nagato shouted. "What is the meaning of this, human? ".
Only a few hours ago, Kay placed a spear on the sacred sakura tree. The tiny boxes he throws around are to conceal the spear before this moment. There's a spear with the Azur Lane flag. Worst of all, it can not be removed by a regular person.
"This is just a warning," Kay said. "I am already wandering around your place, enough time for me to destroy this Sakura Empire. If that I really want to do ".
"You!!!!!!", shouted Kawakaze.
Kay is walking away from there. A few seconds later, he turns his back and makes the last message to them.
"How do you feel when some flags wavering your land? ", asked Kay. "Do you feel absolutely astonishing? ".
"Flowers are Charming"
"Yet Beautiful".
