章節 59: Debut, Lies and Deceit

Haruki had managed to get out of the suite as if he were going to teach another Zumba class, in a short coat. He would dress for the show in the dressing room of the Pyramid.

The singer had already announced that he would go to the gym for another round of Zumba classes to a bunch of holograms, just for the diamonds. He was sure Hinata wouldn't want to have another class on the same day. And it would ensure a cover for his absence.

But, before he could make his quiet exit, Jun decided that he would accompany him and also take the class.

"Jun, you won't like it, the rhythm is… something I couldn't see you enjoying," the singer tried to sound nonchalant. He tried his best acting to sound like it wasn't a big deal, and not raise suspicions.

"I want to see what the 'forbidden dance' is like," Jun insisted, clearly with naughty thoughts, poking Haruki in the rib.

"This is another dance, Jun, not the 'forbidden dance'. Zumba is boring."

The singer hated himself for blatantly lying, but he had to find a way to dissuade his boyfriend.

Then Haruki scolded him, frowning,

"Jun, instead of going to see me dance, you should go look for a freelance job for yourself too. Something in the kitchen, perhaps? Don't just rely on your playing skills," Haruki asked, using his trained puppy gaze to get a yes from almost every human soul.

And to break Jun's willpower at that moment, Haruki cracked a smile full of teeth and dimples. He saw Jun's face relax and his eyes slightly crease in appreciation.

"Um, a little bit of diamonds is better than nothing, right?" Haruki zipped up his backpack, showing he was ready to go.

Jun nodded, accepting the singer's arguments. The baker tried to steal a kiss by pulling Haruki to him and brushing their lips together.

This time, unlike all the other times they touched, Haruki kept his lips pursed, refusing Jun's probing tongue trying to snake its way through the singer's heart-shaped mouth. Allowing nothing more than a peck, Haruki walked away saying,

"I'm going to be late Jun. Have fun! I gotta go."

And the singer left Jun in his closet without turning around for one last look.

Ah! The guilt!

******

He watching carefully his way to the Pyramid, to check whether he was being followed. All the time with the feeling that he was doing something that no one else could see.

Haruki's biggest fear was Juun finding out his sneaky actions before he even had time to tell how it all happened.

'Then I'm screwed. That must be love! ' he regretted his feelings. Haruki couldn't let Jun know how important he was to him, or the bad boy would use that to further dominate their relationship.

Paranoid, the singer checked several times to make sure that no one was around or was in sight, before running out to the entrance of the pyramid and passing like someone who is chased by a thousand demons.

'Wohoo! I did it!' Haruki jumped with joy at having arrived without being seen.

'Now to the show!'

It was in this state of mind that the singer looked at his image reflected in the hundreds of diamonds in the pyramid structure. His images floated on the ceiling at a height of about 20 meters, changing the picture like a puzzle that, when putting all the pieces together, came together in a seamless image, separating and shuffling. And coming together again was another image of the singer. Haruki spent a while looking up, flattered, and in love with himself.

Looking around, he realized that everything inside had changed. Before, the building's interior was transparent and metallic.

Now, in the interior, the mosaics, in addition to forming the singer's images, announced his show in bright letters. A digital chronometer showed how much time was left until the beginning of the show. And right below, close to the floor, there was the astronomical price of the ticket.

Haruki felt euphoric when he saw that, in a somewhat unusual way, he was finally going to debut. And the singer ran to the dressing room. He had little time to produce.

In the dressing room another pleasant discovery, there was everything an idol could need: a star with his name, drinks, flowers, stuffed animals, towels with his initials, a rack with clothes and accessories for the stage, and a huge mirror lit with a counter full of makeup.

And even an android assistant came up to help him,

"I'm Ken, your helper, Takeda-san."

Haruki felt like a super idol. In his work at the gym, there were only holograms, and he was not even given a bottle of water to quench his thirst in the intervals.

But of course, he was just an instructor in the gym. And here he was a celebrity.

"I'm Takeda Haruki," and the singer had to set up the last details as the playlist and how many changes he'd like during the performance. While he was already setting up for the stage. It was everything automated, and surely he was nervous since he had just an idea of how it would be.

It would be a complete show, even if it had a single spectator. Haruki would do his best as if there was a stadium packed with fans.

He finished reviewing with Ken, combined he looked in the mirror satisfied with what he saw. The costume changes and other details would be easier with the help of android, but there were no musicians or staff for light, mics, etc. It was only him and what the system provided.

One last look at the mirror. The stopwatch said it was a minute before the show started, and Haruki went on stage.

*The Forbidden Dance* (1990) is one of the worst films ever made about Latin Dances, and refers to lambada.
