"Take this," he said, handing her a key. 

"What is it for?" she asked, caressing the cold silver key on her palm. Her thoughts had been all over the place with what she eavesdropped from Grand's phone call. "What do I need it for?" she asked in a voice that doesn't sound like her own. 

Grand knitted his eyebrows with how Dana looked and sounded so disinterested with everything he has been saying since dinner. 

"For any reason or occasion I would love it if you would be comfortable enough to drop by at my house, hence the key," he said. 

"Thank you," Dana said absentmindedly.

"Dana, …" he was trying to say something when his phone rang with a familiar ringtone. "I have to get this. It's work," he said, as stood up from the kitchen stool and walked to the living room for a bit of privacy. 

Dana stood up too, opening her cupboard, pulling a bottle of wine, and took it to the garden to have a drink.
