XAVIER'S POV

"Mum, where's that blue shirt? I'm going to Ophelia's house to pick her up for school. I need that blue shi-"

"It's right there, honey. Turn around."

I was in such a hurry. I couldn't believe I had slept in. I never slept in. It was probably because of the fact that I had a good sleep yesterday for the first time in months. 

No nightmares.

Nothing.

It almost felt...

Peaceful.

Wow, that was not a word I thought I would ever use to describe my nights. I looked behind saw the shirt lying on my bed. I could swear I hadn't seen the shirt the whole morning. I slipped the shirt on and kissed my mum bye. Before leaving I took two apples, one for Ophelia and one for me. 

I was certain she woke up late and had skipped her breakfast. I took the car keys and quickly left the house. 

The cold day was all around, yet my heart felt warm. Like a fire had been lit within.
