I was having a stare me down contest with Stella. She had been steadily narrowing her eyes at me since the pasta was done cooking. It was now sitting between us, the scent was making my stomach grumble.

"You're not allowed to eat unless you tell me, honestly, what really happened," I narrowed my eyes in return. I haven't told her anything yet and I was contemplating whether to tell her some parts of the truth or if I should just make something up.

I mean, it was normal for couples to fight. I think she would know and understand how that worked as she had been in an on and off relationship with her ex-boyfriend before Tristan better than I ever will.
