章節 164: Too Stubborn

After Ben and Bella left, Joan eyed her phone skeptically as she wondered why Drake was yet to call her and contemplated giving him a call. After much internal struggle, she picked up her phone and dialed his number. 

"Hey!" Drake greeted, sounding very surprised. 

"Hey! Good morning! Uhm, I was just calling to thank you for last night. So... thanks," Joan said with an awkward giggle since she didn't know what else to say. 

Drake smiled when he heard the confusion in her voice, "I was going to call you after my meeting... I got carried away with some paperwork," He explained apologetically, "How are you feeling now? You both made up, I suppose?" Drake asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

"Yes. Thanks for your concern," Joan said with a smile. 

"Okay," Drake said, and they both remained silent for some seconds. Drake had a feeling she had something she wanted to say to him, and he didn't want to distract her from it.
